Re: F32 realistic weight

I keep my 10 meter on a lift. I have 4 4500# plate motors with 5/8 cable and pulleys on the cradle for compound effect.

Re: where to start? Fuel gauges not working

You will ultimately find you have a bad ground. Check all grounds (read wiggle) while someone watched the gauges for activity

Re: Boat Handling and POD systems

But as with most things in boating, upgrading will cost significantly more than the return. My 83' 10 meter has two gas guzzlers as gas was cheap when it was built. If I upgrade it to some nice Yanmars like you have it would cost 6-8 times my boats current value.

Re: Boat Handling and POD systems

I have run everything from single screws to quad screws and have countless hours on them all. The handling of the boat is more second nature to me than thought process at this point, it just seems to fit like a glove. Although new Pod owners may never have that information or skill, most of the time...

Re: Crusader 454 Stalling, barely running

If it will run up on starting fluid or gasoline poured directly in the carb throat its a fuel issue.... if not its likley a spark issue. The carb swap should tell you more as long as you are geting proper fuel pressure to it. A homemade fuel pressure gauge can verify equal fuel pressure on the good ...

Re: Problems with my Trojan F32 78

I agree with having the fuel polished. Local compaines can do it for you but is may not be cheap. another option is to ballast you boat at the dock to have the fuel shift to the rear or side of your fuel tank so that you may suck it out. Adding water to your lazzerette or in large barrels should cau...

Re: Sand in my pants

Wow that is odd. I have been on a lot of boats... I ran boats in the oil fields off Louisiana, missississippi, Texas, Florida and Brazil and have yet to run across one with no strainers... But, all have also been salt water with sea weed and such. I have actually pulled some large crabs and fish out...

Re: Sand in my pants

Boating aint a cheap mans game thats for sure.... but with a raw water pump at over $400... and all the man hours youll save paying labor to look through your engine finding the cause of its overheating to only determine you have a scallop shell blocking your port youll be happy you have them. Im su...

Re: Power/Speed issue

I have my 10 meter on a lift or I'd be in the same lot as you. I have a small lift for my sons 13' boston whaler also. I took his boat out so we could use it at the river last weekend, and didn't lift the lfit out of the water all week as the whaler was on a trailer until I could put it back in this...

Re: Sand in my pants

Oh Man you absoulutely need to add see strainers to both your mains and genset. It will allow sand to pass.... for that your just going to have to navigate better, but shells, seweed, rope, plastic bags and any other trash you can imagine will be caught and save you countless hours tyring to find it...

I ran a single screw snorkle boat for years..... A converted old liberty ship from the navy.... That steering knob is an essential thing on a single screw for sure
