I've got the Chrysler 440's in my boat. If your going with gas engines the F 36 needs big block engines to run the boat the way the designers intended.

The push button switch you should be using is the extra heavy duty switch that is rated at 35 amps @ 12 volts. West Marine sells the switch, model # 270876 which comes with a black water-repelent cover. Cole # M-626.

I have a shut off valve right at the inlet for my dock side water inlet that I shut off when I leave the boat for any length of time.
