Battery Cell Question

One of the forward battery cells on my starboard starting battery appears that its water level is dropping much quicker than the other battery cells. The batteries are going in to their 5th year of service. Is this a sign this battery is dying? Does anyone know what would cause this? This is not hap...

Trojan Catalog

I also tried years ago and never received a catalog. Not sure one actually exists.

F-36 Transom Fuel Levers

Thanks for the replies. :) So, which set of fuel tanks are larger, the saddle tanks or the aft tanks? I am pretty sure the saddle tanks on my 1972 F36 are the larger fuel tanks. Can I shut off the fuel supply from just the saddle tanks so I can burn off and use only the fuel in my aft tanks only? I ...

F-36 Transom Fuel Levers

My F36 has two levers just to either side of the sliding glass door just above the transom floor that state "open" or "close" and the lever can be pushed to either selection. What exactly do these levers do? I am guessing they switch between my two main saddle fuel tanks and my t...

F 36 Window channel replacement

Does H channel fit in the botton channel the window runs in or does it fit in to the vertical channel the window closes in to? I appear to have a small leak in my side rear window. I think the leak may be coming in somewhere on the vertical glass edge when the window is closed. The bare glass edge i...

On the underside and rear end of the fuel tank the paint coating that covered the tank flakes off in thin small pieces. The surface underneath is rusted but still appears to be solid. The paint with a think layer of oxidation is what flakes off. We are going to proceed with emptying and flushing the...

I have heard $5 k to $10 k to replace both tanks. I bought the boat for $55k four yrs ago and have already spent at least $30K redoing the bottom, rewiring the 110 wiring, new electric service panel, new exhaust system, rebuilding the head, new risers, and the list goes on and on. The surveyor caugh...

Gerry, thank you for your reply. I have considered draining and cleaning the rear fuel tanks and have seen other comments in the forum with a couple owners doing the same thing. I am not sure what this might do to the value of the boat if and when we decide to sell. Would this be viewed as a negitiv...

Replacing Fuel Tanks on 1972 Trojan F-36

My boat mechanic just found rust on the lower outside edge of my port aft fuel tank. The tanks are galvinized. The rust is severe enough that I need replace the tank and think it would best to replace both aft tanks at the same tie. Thankfully the tank is not leaking. The other tanks also appears to...
