Re: help with Nav lighting

Bob thanks for the idea. someone has done that for me, that is I have a light on the arch, for both running an anchoring. Unfortunatly neither of them work!!! I havent have time to chase it down. So if I run at night, which is rare, I just strap a bicycle light to the light pole on the arch . BTW on...

Re: where to start? Fuel gauges not working

Thanks for the ideas guys. Before I did anything, I ran the boat, turned my back, and looked again the port one started to work!! Well at least I have 1 so I should have an idea how much fuel I have. ran the boat the next day, same thing, this time the starboard started working. As I ran the boat, I...

where to start? Fuel gauges not working

I have an 87 10 meter mid cabin twin 454 crusaders. The fuel guages worked last yr, I just figured I was real low. Well I got a fill up ( 200+ gals x $4.19 and no vasoline with that!!) guages did not move. Neither of them. I'd be surprised if they both went out at the same time, that's why I think i...

wow

wow FWIW worth 2 Memorial days ago, I witnessed on the OHIO river, a go fast called, I believe, an Outer limits, going they say over 100 mph (and I know everyone in the boat, so I believe this and the fact it goes over 100 mph). it made a slight jerk, and completely overturned and was upside down in...

I'm not at all a fan of compressed gas onboard. I think its very dangerous. Thats not what you asked though. There is a lot of room in the storage area to the left of the stove. (under the sink) Perhaps you can use that area to help run a line. I'm not going to comment on where I think a safe place...

Never thought about removing it , maybe a option. I will talk to the guy that is hauling it out for me tomorrow he has help me out a great deal with everything maybe he will know a mobile pump out. or instead of removing, there should be a clean out hole in the top, mine is under the bed, which I h...

Mine is mounted on top of the hatch and it has been permanently closed. I can get in from a hatch behind the mirror in the cabin. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v492/tsawyerjr/Trojan/DSCF0260.jpg to access the hatch behind the mirror, did you make a hatch (mine does not have one) that is cut a h...

definitely use the x-over valve to test one tank at a time. Some "Dry gas" is ethanol based and actually makes the water problem worse.... I had an anti-siphon problem too last year. If you open the gas cap while you're running you'll know that's the problem if the problem goes away. Firs...

well if you have multiple gas tanks you can isolate which one the engine pulls from (the one you think is the problem) and see if it still has the problem or as i did (and no i don't think its 100% safe) hooked up a 5 gal can straight to the fuel pump inlet to verify if it was the fuel tank or the ...

not water in the gas tank, but someplace else?

I know there is a thread on water in the gas tank, right below, but I think I have a different problem. here it is: I thought I had water in the gas tank, so I put some 'dry' gas in and checked the gas/water seperator, sure enough, there was water. I cleaned them several times, and then decided I mu...

oil change what weight oil do I need? I have

an 87 with with 454 crusaders, I know it is in my manuel, but that is on the boat. and I know last time it was not a multi weight oil, and that is what the box stores all seem to stock, so it was hard to find. so what is the best for this, thanks in advance.

I hooked the battery back up and the fuel pump is running. I removed the fuses and when the middle one is out it stops. I appreciate the manuals, but still need to figure out which part is my problem. I'm not so good with anything but basic electrical. I did some searching on smokstak.com and the p...
