Tri Cabin aft port seals

We have a 79 Tri Cabin and Im getting tired of putting bowls under the aft cabin porthole windows because of leaking seals. The original seals are a 5/16-3/8" square cross section with a "t" shape lip on the seal surface. Attempts to replace these seals have failed. I tried foam seals...

79 Tri Cabin Salon Screen removal

We want to renew the screens in the salon windows in our 79 tri. Anyone have experience in how to remove these? I removed the screws on the metal strips adjacent to the screens, but im afraid the force that seems to be required to pry off those pieces will either bend them or break the adjacent wind...

Re: TriCabin Aft Hatch Seal

Our 79 tri starboard salon window began leaking this year at the rear due to the caulk seal around the outer window flange. We removed the window screws, pulled the window out far enough to access the mounting surface, cleaned and recaulked. I found that many of the screw holes in the fiberglass wer...

Re: Tri Cabin Windshield removal

Looking at the windshield of the 86 next to me. The removal info is not in the looseleaf manual. Looking at the windshield it looks similar to the 80 with external side pane screws and lower bolts under the strip in the headliner and connecting brackets on top. The slide in interlocks seem to have b...

Re: Tri Cabin Windshield removal

We removed the winshield from our 80 tri three years ago to ship, and it wasnt a real complicated deal, although you will definately need some hands to hold and to support the pieces during dissassembly. The 80 was pretty straightforward. The windshield came off in 5 separate pieces. They slide toge...

Tri Cabin dog ramp

We've got a 79 fri and 2 80 plus pound pups that we would like to take boating with us. The problem is getting them down to and up from the swim platform. Has anyone come up with a ramp design that would extend out far enough and be able to be removed and stored? Ive dismissed the hoyer lift; the el...

Tri Cabin furniture

We ordered a new love seat to replace the original fold out couch on our 79 36 tri. The furniture store salesman was very quick to point out that the reclining love seat backs were easily removable and would allow all the pieces to fit through the 19" salon companionway. Well when the deliverer...

79 36 tri fuel tanks/struts

We put our new to us tri cab in the water thursday, and found that both struts are seeping water past the mount bolts. The struts are located directly under each aft cabin fuel tank. I was able to snug the inner bolts through a slot in the inner stringers, but the outers dont seem to have an access ...

79 tri cabin roof section removal

We are planning to replace the full size refrig and the furniture in our 79 tri cabin. There appears to be no way these are going to pass through the cabin door. Has anyone had any experience in removing and replacing the cabin roof section, and whats involved?
