Re: Oil level

Yes, the drain plug is at the rear bottom of the pan, and when I reinserted the dipstick after draining everything I could, it was dry. Must be the wrong dipsticks for the motors?? Does anyone else have external dipsticks like this? How can they be accurate if they go to the bottom of the pan? Stran...

Oil level

I drained the oil from the oil pan via the drain plug that unscrews from the bottom/side of the pan (twin LM 318's) It was a slow process but in the end I only got 3 quarts out and there was nothing on the dipstick when reinserted. I have external dipsticks and they basically go down to the bottom o...

Re: New here......

Trojan man, beautiful boat, nice pics. If you would like to get that eisenglass back to new, I recommend Maquires Plastx and a buffer, I did mine and then used 303 Protectant to keep the UV rays off and it came back almost brand new.

Re: Keeping Things Quiet

Paul, I've been following this thread from the beginning. Like Big D had stated, everything you touch has a beautiful outcome, I've never seen a fuel tank you can eat off of. Sorry to hear about you're neck, I hope it won't put you down for to long, god bless.

Re: Engine oil

I did reviews on all three, Delvac, Delo LE and Rotella. It seems the new LE Delo has a lot less Zinc in it then the old Delo, same with the new Rotella. I'm gonna go with the DELVAC this year, $12.47 a gallon at Wally World, can't go wrong, but like others have said, everyone has an opinion.

It sounds like you have already made up you're mind. I agree that the bride should have input because, let's face it, she the one that's going
to be on it the most of the time compared to friends and the rest of the family. If you can afford go for it!

Nice looking (and rare) F32. I think I've seen her on the bay before? I work in Providence and will have to look for you next Summer. How bad is the other motor? Any soft spots like the Cockpit area, stringers or bow ??

Dave, If your WOT is around 4200 rpm's I'd say you're right on the money, thats where you need to be. Can you have the original props fixed? they should be 14X11 cupped.

What an amazing restoration project. I wish I had half the talent you have. +1 on the Magazine story, any boating magazine would be crazy not to run this. Wow, over 18000 views. If you ever want to come to frigid Massachusetts I have a Clean Machine that could use some tidying up !

It is a shame what the economy has done to boat prices. Even with millions out of work, oil Tycoons can still raise gas prices through the roof with no regulations. Makes no sense.
