Re: 1972 F26 stuffing box access
I feel your pain. I have a 72 F26 as well. In order for me to access the stuffing box, I remove the cabin stairs and lay on the floor of the cabin. I purchased two stuffing box wrenches and am able to get the wrenches on both nuts, one from each side of the vdrive . Try to get one to lay against the...

Re: Insta Trim / Boat leveler parts
You might want to consider the conversion kit to bennett cylinders. I used part number "bennett V351CK". Do a google search for it. What's nice is the hoses aren't exposed to the water. The fitting penetrates through the transom where the cylinder mounts to the transom and the hoses are in...

Re: Prop Nut Zinc Anodes Vs. Shaft Anode
I got tired of dealing with shaft zincs and installed shaft brushes at the beginning of last year. If you have the space inside your engine room you can eliminate those zince entirely. Google Promariner shaft brush if you want to see what they look like. Bob I like that idea. I'll have to think abo...

Re: Prop Nut Zinc Anodes Vs. Shaft Anode
If I use one, I think I'd also use one shaft zinc as well just to make sure I'm protected and compare the loss of zincs through the season. I usually can't make it a full year with my zincs and would like to have the option to replace them while in the water. With a single bolt holding them on, it l...

Paul. That's a good question. Looking back at some photos I think I'm good. What's your thoughts on them? Have you heard of any issues?

Prop Nut Zinc Anodes Vs. Shaft Anode
Has anyone tried the prop nut zinc anodes? I saw these online but was wondering if anyone has used them possibly in place of shaft zincs. I have a right hand prop so was wondering if the cotter pin is still used so the prop wouldn't come off due to the nut backing off. I really couldn't find too muc...

Re: New Cockpit Lights
Nice! I got the dumb ones. No fade or color change. I didn't need another remote that requires batteries and would eventually get lost.

New Cockpit Lights
I picked up some waterproof LED strip lights for the cockpit. They came with an adhesive strip backing but that was junk, they just wouldn't stay put. I had to get some heavy duty double side tape to get them to stay in place. I'm happy with how they turned out. http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab...

Re: Warning on Cheaspeke bay Thursday
I wish they gave more notice. I would have tightened up the dock lines and painted the bottom and changed the zincs while she hung at the dock. Would have saved me the haul out charges.

I heard that it was out there when I was out there on Saturday. I didn't see it either. Also heard it was back on Sunday. Pretty cool. I've seen them before out there, amazing to see.prowlersfish wrote:There was a whale spotted right there Sunday.

Beautiful Spring Day in February
I was out running the boat to try to keep the bottom clean this past Saturday (02-18-2017) and a friend was visiting Fort Monroe at the time. The took a picture of me while I was cruising by. Thought I'd share. http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab96/vabeach1234/Trojan%20F26/AC7EDCA8-8A23-4E99-B70F-...

Re: Msd ignition
On my 318 I installed a Hot-Spark electronic Ignition Kit. http://www.hot-spark.com/ I also have the marine MSD marine ignition. I originally ordered 2 different pertronix kits but they never fit my distributor. They would have required me to grind off the points stud in the distributor plate which ...

Re: Hull Construction
On my 1972 F26, I believe there's a wood core at the base of the transom, below the water line. See picture below. Kind of blurry but you can see there's an additional thickness to the transom below the chine. The hole is the exhaust for reference. http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab96/vabeach1234...
