I am still in recovery after getting smooshed. I should be back to 955 by July according to the Dr.s.

Boat is on the hard, winterized, and we are gonna pull the trigger on a genny this spring.

I have Edelbrocks on my 318's. I had never rebuilt a carb before, until 2 weeks ago, and it was extremely simple. I would buy them for anything now.

Cobb Island vs. Alexandria

So, the wife and I are going to head out, next weekend, for out anniversary cruise. We have never been to Cobb Island, so it is in the running. It looks like a huge breakwater (from googlemaps) on the Northside of the island. Can you get to the Pirate's Den that way, or do you have to go around the ...

Success! She fired right up, no more stumbling/hesitation, and no more random shut downs. I could not be more happy right now. We spent the night out, on the hook, rafted up with a good buddy. Caught a few catfish, drank a few beers, and had a good time all around. Headed back down shortly to move h...

That was actually very easy. Edelbrocks are very simple. It took me about an hour from start to finish, including all the adjustments. Headed to the marina to slap her on then, hopefully, fire her up!

Headed out to pick up the rebuild kit, then down to the marina to clean her out and fix her up. Wish me luck!

They had treated fuel in them. On a side note, looks like the PO put Edelbrock 1406's in there. This is an auto carb (1409 is the 600 CFM marine version), and it does not make me happy. I know that people will argue left and right, over the safety of an auto carb, so I am not going to venture into a...

That's the funny thing. The filter, in the carb, was clean. All this crap was in the bowls. The accelerator pump wasn't squirting either. Hopefully it is just clogged at the nozzle, otherwise I have to track one down.

Splashed today!

Everything went great, except the damn starboard engine kept dying again. We made it out of the marina, and into open water, before it decided it didn't want to play anymore. I got her running, with a liberal dose of carb cleaner, and pulled back into the marina. Ran a jumper, to the coil, and she f...

Are we gonna catch up on the water this year?

We just moved the boat to Aquia Creek, from Potomac Creek, but we plan on taking more long trips this year. Particularly to the Upper Bay and up to Alexandria/DC.

I ordered a complete set of manifolds/risers/gaskets from them. Shipping is cheap, the owner is a very nice guy, and turnaround was very quick.

Understood. I spoke with a vendor today. He stated that they pretty much throw it on a lathe, check the bore for egging, and check the mating surfaces for trueness and burrs.

I have no idea if the original coupler is true or not. i will stick a straight edge on it tomorrow and have a look see. Other than that, the shaft is keyed, sits flush at the end of the coupler, and is not egged out. That won't tell you anything have the people make you shaft or someone else put in...
