Re: F31

Not many of these around. I am not affiliated with this boat and it's not in the Midwest. It might be the only one available in the country at this time https://smd.craigslist.org/boa/d/lanham-1974-trojan-32/7155284793.html A couple of things to keep in mind with this model of F32 is that unlike the...

Re: F24

I noticed the ad says the trailer is not in the pictures. I wonder what the trailer looks like that is included.

What do you think an F24 is worth that is fully operational?

F24

I've never seen an F24 before. It's an interesting layout with a good size cockpit for a small boat but no way to get forward except through the hatch in the v-berth. Nice looking profile though. I thought I would post it in case anyone else would like to see it. I am not affiliated in any way with ...

Re: Aaron Bocknek -- 1960 to 2016

I did not know Aaron but read many of his posts. He had a unique characteristic in that he grew up with a Trojan. I don't think I have ever seen another post from anyone else indicating this. Part of Aaron's legacy is everything he shared and taught this community about Trojans and boating over the ...

Re: Best boat for family - 36' Tri-Cabin?

It is pretty easy to tell the first generation fiberglass Tri-Cab (v-drive) from the second generation (direct drive) as the first generation has the open cockpit at the back of the boat. The second generation has the raised deck all the way around the boat. If your plans for being on the water incl...

Re: Best boat for family - 36' Tri-Cabin?

There are lots of Tri-Cab owners on the forum that can speak more specifically to some of the features of this boat. Here are a few general comments to consider: 1. $4000 for a Tri-Cabin puts that boat at the bottom of the market. At that price I doubt you will find one for less money or one that wi...

Re: SS United States - 1000' Long & Cruised at over 40MPH

Looks like there may be hope for saving the SS United States. Crystal Cruises just moved on an option to buy and will pay the $60K per month it costs to keep the ship while they conduct a nine month feasibility study to restore her. Here is a link to an article for anyone who is interested in readin...

Re: Tri cabin purchase advice

I am not sure where you are located but in case it is close, there is a guy on Kelley's Island (Ohio on Lake Erie) who rents his tri-cabin as floating condo. You can only use it as a hotel, i.e. you can't operate it as a boat. It would give you a chance to test out the livability before you buy.

Re: What a Lady F47

How about those skylights in what appears to be the salon (or is a saloon in a boat this size)? I am guessing that is a custom upgrade. Either way, I love the way they look.

Anyone know how fast a 34,000 pound boat can cruise with twin 454 gasoline engines?

Re: rotted stringers

If you are replacing the stringers with near term plans to sell the boat, my guess is that you will have trouble getting your money back on the stringers but you will have a boat that can be sold. I am not sure what your options are for getting rid of it with bad stringers. You may be lucky to give ...

Re: Driving a Single Screw Inboard

That's a good question. I looked at commercially available bow thrusters and they call for 55-75 lbf for a boat the size of an F26. However, I think they have added efficiencies like tunneling built in that improves their performance. I suspect that the dual 55 lbf trolling motor setup would move th...
