Paint & Primmer

Hi All! My V-drive units are a little rusty and I would like to paint them in place. I plan on wire brushing and cleaning the surfaces I can reach but am not sure what would be the best primer and paint. It is a salt water location. Is Rustoleum primer a good choice or some sort of zinc primer bette...

Turning off inverter

I was wondering how inverters are wired in. I have an older 30amp 3 bank inverter. I have searched for a way to turn it off, but the only thing I have found that works is the main breaker. I have 4 120v breakers in my panel, 2 are for receptacles, 1 each for microwave and refrigerator. Is this commo...

Caulk

Hi All,

I need to caulk around my windless riser which is made of teak. The last stuff I used was a marine grade silicone, after a short amount of time it pulled away from the teak. What type do you recommend? It needs to be white and adhere to teak and fiberglass.

Thanks

Re: Window seal

Thanks everone for the info. I know it is not too clear but the quarter round is a soild profile, not hollow. Cantianmaniac, how do I get in touch with Beacon? Yorklyn, I checked MC and only could find hollow profiles. This picture is a cross section showing how the glass is mounted. The seal is pus...

Window seal

I hope asking a Carver question is ok. I have this rubber window seal/trim around the windows in my rear entrance door. It is a quarter round profile with a barbed tail that is inserted in a groove in the door. It is about a 1/4"-3/8" quarter round. I have been looking on line and have not...

Exhaust Manifold Replacement

Happy Ney Year All :D

I am replacing the exhaust manifolds and elbows on my twin 1983 Crusader 270's. Would anyone know the torque specs for the manifold bolts and the 12 point elbow bolts?

Thanks

My 83 Carver Mariner came from the factory with the optional propane 3 burner stove and oven. The tank is in a locker mounted on the swim platform. There is a control panel near the stove with a switch to turn on the gas by way of a solenoid mounted on the tank. Works very nice.

The rudders are bonded. The connections could use alittle cleaning. Acording to the PO the last zincs on the boat in this marina lasted a year. The only thing that has changed is having the bottom finished.
