Re: Fuel tank replacement

Before I had new tanks made for my 1978 F32 I spoke to the folks at the Trojan factory about repowering. They said that the tried to put 454's in the F32 but unless the boat had the saddle tank option the boat would bow steer as the main tanks used fuel. So weight was a known problem then.

Re: Fuel tank replacement

Luther's is the name of the tank fabricator in Bristol RI. They made Saddle and Main tanks for my 1978 F32 many years ago. Call them, they may keep measurements of whatever they build. Luthers's Welding Address: 500 Wood St, Bristol, RI 02809 Phone: (401) 253-5550 http://www.lutherswelding.com/index...

Re: Oil change

If you can get a pan under the engine, like a painters roller pan. You can, with a wet/dry vac, suck the oil out of the pan while it drains. Done that for years.

Re: Props?

I have a pair of 3 blade 16 x 16 x 1 1/4 bore that came off my 1978 F32 They were reconditioned and never put back on the boat. They never hit anything.

Re: bottom paint

I had the bottom of my boat blasted last fall. They used crushed walnut which looks like the cereal farina(farina is known to us old guys). The boat is an 86 an never had the bottom addressed.Twenty eight years of paint build up. I thought I would sand the bottom but after a couple hours, I gave up....

Re: Lonseal Flooring

bjanakos---I had some difficulty in gluing my Lonseal down in one area. Any place that is flat, it can be put down without adhesive. I used quarter round molding to hold it in place with no problems. If you have a hatch, you can use T molding to hold it in place.

Re: Lonseal Flooring

I bought mine from Defender when they had their spring sale. I bought ten running feet at $36.00 per foot. It comes only six feet wide. $360.00 plus about $80.00 a gal for the contact cement.

Re: Lonseal Flooring

Gitchisum I used the Lonseal Teak and Holly satin in the galley, head, under the dinette and the area from the vee berth to the galley. Not a Trojan, sold my F32 after 25 years and bought a 36 Hatteras. Lonseal is reasonable to work with. Picture thick vinyl flooring. Two ways Lonseal has to adhere ...

Re: is this a fair price.

I'm in Ct and just contracted the marina to soda/walnut blast my boat. Sold my F32 a few years ago and now have a 36 Hatteras. Bottom has never had the paint removed. It is a 1986. $2200.00 for the blasting and I'm on my own for the blister repair(if any) and subsequent barrier coat and paint applic...
