This reminds me when my old boats vent was clogged I took off the hose at the tank and got sprayed like Robin Williams in the movie RV. There was so much pressure built up the stuff shot out like a fire hose. I just bought the boat and assumed the previous owner pumped it out before he winterized i...

I was given a nautical Tervis Tumbler with the custom "Captain" imprint. Has served quite a few bourbon and coke(s) so far this season! Happy New Year!

1994 Mckee 170 DC - Ex Wildlife Enforcement, still has the siren and it's fun to run - 175 Merc Mariner. This pic is from the first day home when I spent time with the power buffer. The crooked reg numbers were peeled off that day. Things like that drive me nutso! :) http://i1122.photobucket.com/alb...

I had similar issue, after much diagnosis we determined the y valve wasn't allowing the vacuum to be created. We found a cut-off at the overboard discharge outlet and closed it.

Find that leak and it should work. Patience is key. I made many trips to the pumpout station before we found it.

Fine print says it's not a survey, although the seller portrays it as such which is un-settling. It's an appraisal with a ton of assumptions, including that EVERYTHING mechanical works. Nothing was tested.

Thanks. That's likely the solution I will go with this week. These older controls are nowhere to be found. A company called Coastal Climate Control has an FX-1 model controller that should work fine but I'm on the fence about dropping the money into an older system. It kind of begs a larger question...

A/C Help - Lunaire

My aft climate control unit seems to have had some squirrels into the wiring with the previous owner. It appears the thermostat quit telling the compressor when to turn off and on, so it was hot-wired to run all the time. Not as noticeable in the summer as it is in the winter, it will heat you out i...

Welcome. I wouldn't let a fridge influence the decision as much as the history or condition of the rest of her. My experience is mixed with refrigeration. If it stops working, service depends on the bad part. I would expect most cases in that age range would expect to need a new unit if it fails. Th...

A friend of mine just had some motorcycle parts coated by a company called "jet hot". They are reasonably local and I stopped in with him. It was a really cool place they have done mostly things for drag cars and show hot rods but I could definitely see an application for marine parts. It ...
