Sore subject here for me. I paid a very highly recommended licensed surveyor to throughly inspect and provide a detailed report for both me and the insurance company. The boat was classified by him, and in writing, as in very good and very well maintained condition....................so, not knowing...

Guess that answers it. Just wondered because the existing setup is that 14/3 stranded copper in a orange outer covering..................... Unfortunately, its in the water and far from home and nowhere on this lake can you pull her out and work on it yourself. All marinas have the same policy.........

Bilge Pump Wiring
I'm getting ready to install all new bilge pumps in my F28. The PO used outdoor electrical wiring (14/3) to install the 3 wires for the forward pump. The wire is is good shape and supported well. Can/should I keep this setup or rip it out and put in new dedicated 12v wiring. My new pump only will dr...

F28 Forward Berths
Does the upper berth in the F28 cuddy have any "structural" value? Thinking about removing half of it to access shelving, etc under it. To me, that space is very difficult to access and dark to say the least. I don't want to do any unrepairable damage.......... More interested in storing g...

Sentry Detection System
My Sentry detection indicators below my instrument panel are totally inop (zero lights, switch knob shaft bent, etc). If I remove this panel, does it affect anything else....like the Halon system? For some reason now my fire system green light doesn't light when I start the engines too. I want to up...

Can Eisenglas be glued ?
I have some deteriorated eisenglas (almost all) on my enclosures and was wondering if new "eglass" could be glued onto the old where patches are required? Or, is an F28 too small to install a piot house type enclosure w/hinged windows on the flybridge? Too much weigh too high up? Even if m...

I'm on Texoma. As you know all freshwater, the boat was supposedly delivered to this lake many yrs ago and has always been in a covered slip. BUT, the POs obviously used it as a slip queen and really never performed any maintenance. Just kept adding radios (5) not counting the vhf, speakers (16), TV...

The original side lights had corrosion in the sockets quite badly (2 different bulb styles) and the lenses were very weathered and cracked as were the gaskets. The masthead/anchor light was jury rigged with hose clamps and duct tape and it too was badly weathered. The stern light is so corroded into...
