I don't have the $$$ right now, but the 1409 and 1410 are available online (new) for about $360. The PO could have replaced them both for just a couple of dollars more and had a lot less trouble.................go figure. So far, I trust the techs working on my boat when I can't do the work myself. ...

I've tried my very soapy water method to try to fnd the leak...........nada? The PO, according to the service records last year had the carb in mention rebuilt for a tidy sum of over $600. He could have bought a Edlebrock (or 2) had he shopped around a bit. Before I dump a bunch of $$ into the OEMs,...

Well, I started this topic that has gotten so out of control, here's my 2c to its latest direction. Since I consider myself a definite novice with a F28, have enough issues with the boat to keep it in its slip until all systems are functional and dependable, have one engine that idles at 750 and the...

Yes, I sure enjoyed it. But "hand built and tooled" prototypes are a thing of the past. Now everything for the most part is sterolithography. Old school craftsmanship and gone almost extinct. Except for the duck carvers. Here's a couple of simple things that are a must. 1st have very accur...

What scale are you trying to model, 1/4, 1/8. etc? Next, try to get someTrojan line drawings from advertisements, etc. OEMs normally provide good accurate literature. Find an interior cutaway down view, this locates your interior. Get a good camera an find any suitable boat, it water or out........t...

Along the topic of updating the electrical system. Would it seem feasible to relocate an F28 DC fuse panel to right below the lower wheel? It would be much easier to access I think. And the upgrade would be to a Blue Seas ATC fuses. And could I use "jumper" wires to transfer the power to t...

What has caused the concern is a local "marine service center" told me 65-80 psi on any Chrysler 318 is way too high. My concern, am I going to blow an oil filter or do I have a blockage somewhere that's causing the high pressure. According to the service records, the engine had a head gas...

Are there any "universal fit" sending units? The instruments are original Trojan. I'll be changing them out sometime in the future to new Teleflex or Faria...........not certain which ones yet. Or perhaps Harkin Marine gauges....their website lists a five gauge set for a resaonable price a...

Engine Instrument Sending Units

For dual station, twin 318's. Are the engine water temp and oil pressure senders something special or will auto senders work? Have oil pressure on port engine running over 65 psi...closer to 80 at both stations. Strbd is at 65 cold, 45 at normal temp. Wondering if I need to replace the sender?

Bought Attwood 2 mile sidelights and 3 mile masthead and stern light. I prefer to fish at night so I upped the anchor lights to the 3 mile ones. overkill but at least they will see me.

Unfortunately those wires are 10ga. I'm betting one of the PO's played with them..............on this nav light setup the starboard side is red negative, black positive. Port is opposite.................just my luck. I've decided to go to Plan B and have already mfg new mounts so I can relocate the ...

Geez, almost sorry I asked about the syncs. I appreciate everyone's replys. On this size and weight boat, I'm a definite novice and the flybridge station adds even more fun to the task. I'll try switching the tachs side to side to start. I can't tell by engine sound because my port engine is much lo...

Engine Synchronizer

I have erratic tachometer readings (at best). Would it make sense to install engine sync gauges and not totally replace all the tachs. Seems as though the port tach at both stations is hanging, etc. Flybridge one starts to work after running a while and lower stabilizes when I turn on the instrument...

Original Equipment Horn

Does anyone know the mfg of the dual electric trumpet horns used in '78? The horn buttons are OK as is the power to the horns. They are all corroded inside and hardly make a sound. Looking for parts OR any thoughts about installing dual mini's rated at 112db instead of trumpets? $$$ is now becoming ...
