The 54 is an F- Series. All glass hull and superstructure with the exception of the decks. They are teak over plywood. Really cool boat, engines are all the way aft...V-drives.

Perry, The 1985 with the arch is supposed to be waiting for me. :( I have been over every inch of that boat. It is better condition than some 5 year old boats I've seen. Previous owner was very meticulas. Nothing is bastardised or done the cheap way. Good Luck to you. I have been waiting to pull the...

If you're buying new, why not buy fuel injection and electronic ignition? My last boat had a Volvo 5.7 GSi, and it ran great with very little maintenance. I know Crusader offers a 5.7 with fuel injection and electronic ignition. I'm sure other manufacturers also offer them. Boy, I was just thinking...

I used W.M. CPP ablative over 2 years ago. It kept the barnicales off but the slime build up was bad. I think I'm gonna try W.M. PCA Ablative with Ingarol for slime buildup this go round. I've heard it works pretty good in the Chesapeake Bay area. WM has it right now for $180 and is offering a $20 ...

I have a budget system with Lowrance gear. I started with one LMS-520c unit I picked up on Craigslist for < $300. Then I bought a pair of their EP-60 flow sensors at $59 ea. About $200 in cables and it worked. Then quit. After hours of troubleshooting (weeks actually), I went through 2 more pair of...

Generally that is all you need. If you have trim tabs or a heat exchanger, there may be some on those. Trim tabs would be similar to your rudder zincs (sacrificial anodes) and a pencil shaped one in your heat exchanger. They need to be replaced periodically.

I'm going to pay for my survey as a buyer. I'm also going to follow the surveyor thru the entire process. This is what I've done in the past. You can learn alot about your new boat this way.
