Re: 270 Following Seas

I used to take my 78 F26 offshore diving here in jax FL, and a couple times it got quite rough. One day seas were supposed to be 2-3 but the wind whipped up in the afternoon and I had to battle a 3-5' stern quartering sea for twenty miles. With about 1000 lb of dive gear and 4 beefy divers on deck, ...

If it looks that good in person, the survey should go well. You will have a beautiful boat. I love the cabin materials and colors.

Re: Plb vs epirb vs nautilus lifeline

The lifeline is more geared to the diver -coming up too far away from the boat or rough seas making him hard to locate. I would leave the epirb in the boat. My main concern would be if the boat were disabled or sank. Counting on other boats getting a dsc signal does not instill much confidence in me...

Plb vs epirb vs nautilus lifeline

What are the pros and cons of these different systems? which would be better for diving 20 miles off shore? Does anyone have experience with the nautilus thingy?

Re: What is my 78 F30 Worth????

Last spring I sold my F26 for $9600 and it was not in nearly as good a shape as yours sounds. The key to selling here for what she's worth is to do a good job of SELLING HER! It spounds dumb but your ads need to have tons of info- in a clear and concise, readable presentation-m buullet points work w...

SHARE YOUR "CHINESE FIRE DRILL" EXPERIENCES

Tell us about growing up on boats and some of your emergency or Chinese fire drill experiences. One of mine was on the fly bridge one night when I was fourteen and Dod (dear old dad) told me to navigate across the bay, while mom, he and his friends partied and played cards (i think) down below. Abou...

Re: WHY WE LOVE OUR BOATING LIFESYTLE

Yeah, don't forget the "Chinese Fire Drills" too. Like when out of no where a line squall blows in with 60 mph winds and you have 3-4 footers in two minutes, dragging all the stern anchors, leaving 12 cabin cruisers tied side by side bucking in the waves hanging on their front anchors, the...
