Re: '75 36' TriCabin - Questions

Can visit anytime. Might have the boat sold. Man called me twice already, said it looks like one of the cleanest around. We have a 44 trojan Motoryacht at the marina that I am interested in. Just let me know when you will be around. Thats where that boat was in Tenn when I looked at it. He had it fo...

Re: '75 36' TriCabin - Questions

Chris did you buy that boat around the Nashville area? I looked at one several years ago that looks like it. Had chips out of the fiberglass in the bow and his wife made a new interior for it, at the time. I think it also had a wood toe rail or rub rail. He used to deliver boats for Searay and lived...

Re: Gas Smell after Running Engine

Look down the throat of the carb after you shut the engines off. You might see gas dripping it it. Sometimes the needle and seat might have a piece of trash it it. This will make the carb flood and until the gas has dripped out of the carb, you will smell gas. Also check your vent hoses, they may be...

Re: 1978 trojan F36 rear cabin cover.

We have done one of those, when we owned our Silverton. We did a passageway from the bridge to the cockpit, to keep it weather tight. You need to use at least 1" stainless for the frame and fittings. The other major concern is exhaust fumes when running. They do and will find their way in the b...

Re: 1976 Tri-Fly

You also have to remember some of those people are not making what they used to. When you ad slip fees and winterizing in every year, and it needs to go, you are better cutting your losses and sell it for less. I know my slip is 3800 for the year, instead of trying to get 15000 if it had to go, I wo...

Re: Wonderful non-parallel shafts

My Tri Cabin steered quite good on one. I still have a blown tranny and something wrong with the vdrive. I think the v drive problem is the key on the input shaft. Don't have time for the boat with the wife and her lung cancer. Got down there yesterday and hosed off all the pollen on the boat. What ...

Great if you can shoot me some pics when you can. Aweimer are you still coming to Atlanta with the boat? If you are, when you have the boat here, can I come take a look at your sea strainer set up?

Re: City of Charleston Marina

We have friends that keep their boat there. Nice place. The only thing I don't like is you can not have anything on the dock. Yes chairs, grills nothing. That would be a cramp for liveaboard. Looked at a F-36 there a time back. Gets expensive, I believe that time it was around 750 month with diver f...

Re: Sea strainers for 75 Tri Cabin

That probably is true then. That is why , maybe, they are just laying in the bilge. Someone might have thought of putting them in. Problem is there is very little space in the engine compartments on the 75 tri cabin model. Well if anyone does have a older tri cabin with them, please send me a pictur...

Sea strainers for 75 Tri Cabin

I need a picture of how and where they are supposed to be mounted. PO removed them and laid them in the bildge, don't even know if they are the ones. We are on the lake now and will be going to the coast in the fall, if everything goes to plan. I will definely need them there.

Re: White vinyl headliner, with or without holes?

Yorkln, Freddy is right make sure you don't have any leaks. That spray foam will not be fun if it holds water. With just the little space you have to work with, it probably would be better to leave it alone. If the foam expands to far you have a nasty job of shaving it down to the 1 inch mark.

Re: White vinyl headliner, with or without holes?

It will stretch fine. It stretches better one way than the other. See which way you need to have it stretch. They make a product, you can get at Sailrite, it has a 360 stretch. It costs a lot more. Just plan out what you need to do carefully, and I am sure you will be fine with the standard material...

Re: Moving to Lake Lanier

Na you will be fine. We will be in serious trouble if it gets where that marina would be in trouble. Water here has gone from 16' below to now at 7' below. They put our gangways back on the mounts and off the ground where they were. Pray it keeps raining to have full pool by May. Give me a shout whe...
