Re: 11 Meter Express drive train bearing?
That makes perfect sense to me. I will give it a try. Thanks. The obvious is most always overlooked!

Re: 11 Meter Express drive train bearing?
I can turn it with a large pair of channel locks on the coupler. I have no indication of a problem like vibrations, high temperature of the components-checked with infra-red thermometer, nor any problem making full rated RPM. This is my first inboard boat and I had read that you should be able to tu...

Re: 11 Meter Express drive train bearing?
Big D, I was trying to turn the shaft from inside the boat, disconnected from the transmission while the boat was in the water. I was checking the alignment which was .003.

11 Meter Express drive train bearing?
Any of you 11 meter guys know anything about a intermediate shaft log bearing? I saw this term in the sales brochure I bought from Beacon for my 1984 11 meter express: "Intermediate shaft bearings, integral with shaft logs" It was listed under the " underwater gear features". Sur...

Re: Forum search help
Thanks Prowlersfish. That did help but only returned 4 threads. I'll bet there are many more than that.

Forum search help
I'm attempting to search all posts on the 11 meter express boats. The site's search engine will not let me. It states that the words "11 meter express" are too common. Any suggestions?

Cutlass Bearing & Shaft Seal question
(1) I have to admit I don't know if my (new to me) '84 11 Meter Express has 1 or 2 cutlass bearings per side. Anyone know the answer and sizes per chance? I plan on replacing them and would like to know what I am in for in the way of parts before I pull the boat. (2) My boat has the original drive s...

Parts list?
I am preparing to have my boat pulled for bottom paint and all the things you should inspect/replace while it is on the hard. To me, it would be a huge benefit to know what replacement part to have in hand before I start the process. I know that I will replace certain wear items. Is there a "pa...

Guidance with install of thru-hull on 11 meter express
I am adding an additional bilge pump and knowing that I have a cored hull, I would like some advise on the proper way to do this. How far does the cored section of the hull extend above the waterline? Would I be drilling thru glass only, and if not, what is the proper way to insure hull integrity wh...

I just went through this dilemma, so I will share what I learned. I had a complete re-build of my starboard engine (big blue 454) in July. My machine shop made it very clear that I would have no warranty if I did not use their break in oil which was Brad Penn, and after the break in period, that if ...

I have 454-350HP turning 23 x 24 4 blade props smiller192. I have had the experience of running it on just the port engine and boy was it a bear! I will have to try just the starboard to check out the differences. For sure, there is no substitute for practice and I am committed to doing that each ti...

11 Meter Express handling questions
Being a new owner of my first twin inboard biggest boat yet, I am looking for docking/un-docking tips. Is it possible to "walk" these boats sideways? I only have about 10 hours time at the helm, so I admit to being unseasoned on twin inboards. I had an encounter with the wind yesterday (ab...

Hi James. I too own a 1984 Trojan 11m (370) Express with the big blue gassers. My battery setup is 3 Trojan group 27's, one for each engine and one for the generator. They are 27SM-1100 with 860 CCA @ 0 degrees. I am happy with them, but Trojans are not in the least tolerant of a low water situation...
