Ok thanks for the advice it's a short shaft 1961 40hp Johnson I tried looking up the weight it appears to be about 130 to 140lbs. I'm actually going to go pick it up right now.

it is the 15ft model, I think it will handle a 40hp. Maybe even a 50hp, but I was just checking to see if any one on here had any recomendations

Johnson 40hp on sea queen

I have found a Johnson 40hp motor for this sea queen, it's a 1961 I believe and I'm wondering if any one has any input on whether this will be a big enough motor?

I just bought a 1957 or 1958 Trojan sea queen. I bought it off Craigslist for 100 bucks, it is all complete with hardware and original steerinng wheel and mercury throttle control.
