74 Tricabin cabin deck

Greetings it's been awhile. Re doing my cabin deck. Teak and plywood stripped off. Temp roof on. Notice the other day during the rain that water seems to roll down the deck and tends to run off the cabin on the port side. Has anyone else noticed this.

Thanks Jim

Re: Battery switches

Well mystery solved. I disconnected all positive battery terminals. Reached up and hit the switch. Dc lights turned on. As a last ditch effort I turned solar panel controller off. Lights out. Power off. It seems the the controller is tapped into the dc lighting via a terminal board in the cockpit. T...

Re: Battery switches

Quite frankly - depends on how a previous owner wired / rewired things. If a PO has wired things directly to the battery terminals (or any power block that is still live even if switch is turned off, like bilge pump connections usually are), that could lead to this. No easy way around it - check an...

Re: Battery switches

Is there an "Off" position? We can only see batt 1, batt, 2, and both batteries in parallel. As pictured, yes you can have DC lighting because we cannot see an "off" position. With the being said, and having no familiarity with your particular vessel, the location of this switch...

Should I have dc lighting with the switches off?
Does not matter what position switches are in. I can turn on dc lighting?

Re: f36 genny wiring

[quote="Sanctuary 2" What size battery do you have on your genset? The boat is new to me too, but I have a group 27 that is destined for that spot.[/quote] Yahoo got genset running on starter fluid via a grp 31 battery. I'm going to separate the wires above and dedicate one battery to the...

This is a pic of genny wiring. Looks like a lot of add on stuff. The battery charger does supply power here.

I'm open to suggestion.

Re: 74 tri cabin shore power

Thanks for the info on v- drives. I did come across the cockpit drain on port side after some ice melt did is job and I got wet going by. Lol. I'm in the process of getting dirty and hand over handing each system. I think I have saved 3 batteries. I will use one on each engine. One on the genny. Wil...

Re: 74 tri cabin shore power

Update on power. Turned out had a polarity problem on a extension cord I repaired. Now fixed and have power. Battery charger works. Warm weather has deck drains working. Batteries have been pulled to see which ones are salvageable. Any ideas on my next move?
