Re: Shower pump running continuously. Need some tips

Aaron, Thanks for the reply. I suspected it may be the float stuck. Thanks for confirming that. The access hatch. You note it is in front of the aft birth. I lifted the carpet as far as the aft head's door way, but did not notice anything that could be easily lifted. Do I need to liuft the carpet ev...

Shower pump running continuously. Need some tips

Hello all, I have an 81 TriCabin. On my DC breaker panel are two switches for Shower P. Up is for auto. Am I correct in assuming these are pumps for the shower's sump? I noticed late yuesterday that all of a sudden one of the pumps was running continuously. It was not doing so before. I know that a ...

Re: Winter cover

Does anyone have some suggestions as to how to effectively tarp the Tri Cabin? Keep in mind that I do also live aboard, so access and light are important.

Re: Tricabin windshield

I have now done the three lower panes in my Tri Cabin, and will do the three larger, upper panes in the spring. A friend of mine got an automotive glazier's knife and we cut out the original rubber bead and all the silicon that previous owners had applied, and then lifted the panes out. I then used ...

Re: 1984 Tri-cabin hull drain location(s)

P-Dogg, do all the stanchions have through botls? I am pretty sure that I will need to rebed all mine and effect a couple of small repairs to some fibreglass in one or two spots. What all is inviolved in getting these off, and then bolted back in place?

Re: Freshwater pump issue

hope they assist. the low pressure from the hookup could be one of two things or a combination of both. the checkvalve in the boat could be sluggish, the water pressure at the marina could be low. i've experienced very low pressure from the shore hookup when the marina is heavily populated and many...

Re: Freshwater pump issue

Aaron, Thanks for the photos. My shore water hook up looks like it was factory installed. Alas, water pressure in the shore water supply is, well low. Hook up the hose, open it to full, and I get a very slow, albeit steady stream through the galley tap. Slightly faster and higher pressure at the aft...

Re: Freshwater pump issue

Thanks Aaron! So just hook up city water and turn off pump. No y or other valve to turn. Cool. Thanks again for all the help. there should be not other valve to turn unless the PO did something screwy. just connect at the dock and the boat, turn on the water, and the city water should flow through ...

Re: Freshwater pump issue

So, any response on the idea of hooking up to the "City Water" connection on the transom? Is there something I need to do after connecting the hose, or does it all pass through the main water tank?

Re: Freshwater pump issue

Whatever you do, I would recommend installing an accumulator as well. Todd Pote showed it to me on his boat and it's a nice upgrade. Basically it prevents the pump from coming on every time you need water. For low demands like washing your hands or flushing the head, the pump might not cycle at all...

Re: Freshwater pump issue

All of a sudden my freshwater pump has developed an issue. Pressure at the galley is very low, and surges, and the pump makes a horrible racket. It is a loud noise, hard to describe but like a stuttering sound. Is the pump dying? If so, what should I replace it with? I have a Tricabin, and from the...

Re: TriCabin Aft Hatch Seal

Our 79 tri starboard salon window began leaking this year at the rear due to the caulk seal around the outer window flange. We removed the window screws, pulled the window out far enough to access the mounting surface, cleaned and recaulked. I found that many of the screw holes in the fiberglass we...
