Re: Trojan 36' Tri-Cabin Propeller size and Pitch
I'll apologize up front for interrupting this conversation with a new topic (or at least different stats). I have a 1989 F36 sportfish with twin crusader 454's. The old owner put 4 blade props on the boat and the performance is suffering greatly. PROWLERFISH: Can you tell me the correct prop size a...

Re: Thru Hull / Strut Backing Material
Polyester should be fine. Here is a link to G10 They have different types. Wood is also fine.

Re: Thru Hull / Strut Backing Material
Plywood was used I believe. Todays plywood is not like it used to be I used Oak on mine ( F36). Others have used marine plywood, marine plywood with epoxy, plastic boards and G10 fiberglass I would never use treaded plywood, it has too many voids. If I was to replace my Oak I would go with G10. G10 ...

Re: Trojan 36' Tri-Cabin Propeller size and Pitch
The Tri cabin never came with 318s. Assuming you're not talking about a tri-fly. They only came with the 360 (250hp) Chrysler and Mercruiser 255hp(351?) Factory props are 20x17. When picking props I often recommend reducing the pitch from factory specs. As very few are in factory new condition/ If f...

Re: Oil Pressure Gauges
Assuming nothing was changed it sounds like a ground issue. But it is odd it's the upper and lower. If it was only one engine I would think about a sender issue. Still posable, any work done over the winter?

Re: old gauges
Joe, That tach is not original. The hour meter is digital. They did not have digital back then and the OEM tachs were also cable-driven. A new hour meter will be at zero. The OEM would likely say trojan on them. Not sure who made them. Any photos of the other gauges so I can tell you if they are OEM...

Re: 1974 Trojan F25 soft spots
It is possible but it is much better and easier done from the top. I had the same issue and rather than cut it open, I used a product called injectadeck. I was happy withe the results. Here is a link to the thread on my repair https://www.trojanboats.net/wforum/viewtopic.php?p=111878&hilit=injec...

Re: New to the group & Trojans Buying an 11M Express
Congrats and good luck. Make sure the inspection is really a Survey done by a NAMS or a SAMS-accredited surveyor. At 2 years it is time to paint the bottom again. Hope all goes well.

Re: 1971 Trojan F31 Hardtop - Twin 1971 Chrysler 318's
Not 100% on what you are looking for. But you can plan on about 1 MPG on plane and maybe 2 MPG below hull speed ( 7 knots or so) While not exact it should be in the ballpark and will vary some on the exact speed, weather conditions, and of course the boat's condition.

Re: 1971 Trojan F31 Hardtop - Twin 1971 Chrysler 318's
You can compare an automotive engine to a marine engine with many differences. Like cams, ignition advance curves to start. starboard engine even turns in the opposite direction than the port.

Re: 1971 Trojan F31 Hardtop - Twin 1971 Chrysler 318's
The 318 is rated at 225hp. Trojan info shows 4000 as top rpm. And it is propped that way. I can try and look up the specs for a new 1971 F31, but it is unlikely an old boat would come close.
