Why the &*!@ own 2 boats?

So, I see several folks on here that are the ... ahem... proud owner of 2 boats. I have owned 2 boats since being a member of this forum and I am thoroughly disgusted and disheartened. Yes, I posted a whining post last year, so I am overdue. I truly love Invictus, my 1991 F32, that apparently isn't ...

Clean or Replace Flybridge brown windshield

Has anyone had any luck cleaning or replacing the flybridge windshield? Please ignore teh pompous guy in this photo. Want to make the windshield either erase my fat or look clear, one of the two.

Thanks.

Crappy old toilet to new Compact Raritan and Holding Tank

One of my most hated parts of my restore and project, especially for the 6 months I lived aboard has always been the toilet. My boat had something that looked like bigger porta-potty with about 9 gal capacity that could be pumped overboard. A PO screwed up the maceator by removing a y-valve and inst...

Re: Shipping 32 Trojan

Last year, I had my F32 Invictus shipped from Norfolk, VA to Memphis, TN by Brothers Marine Transport in your area. They had to remove the flybridge. They didn't wrap it during shipment, so it was filthy dirty. There are areas with new caulk that I can't remove from their reassembly. Otherwise they ...

Re: Lag Bolts (Chain Locker into Bow Pulpit through Fibergla

Thanks for the input. I haven't been to the boat and don't have any great pictures. There are 3 through hole bolts (5"x3/8) that hold the bow pulpit to the backing plywood. There are 2 more through bolts about 18" forward of those three that are still in place. I'm guessing they are thinne...

Lag Bolts (Chain Locker into Bow Pulpit through Fiberglass)

Hey guys (and ladies) I haven't been here in a long time; I stay too busy with my new job to spend enough time on my boat. Anyway, as the Miss river and temps rise, I'm working on projects in Memphis. I bought a Lewmar Sport Fish Windlass (1000) 2 years ago when I bought the boat and was too busy fi...

Re: Can't locate the 'source' end of 12V accesory to the Fly

Not sure I should ever offer advice, so disqualify me. That said, my breaker panel is forward of my salon, between the dinette and just above the engine compartment. Immediately behind it, in the sliding compartment on my starboard side, below the window, there is a cornicopia of wiring behind a whi...

Re: Gas smell 30-60 min after engines secured

Update: yesterday, I could not replicate the leak. I tried running for a long time. I tried manipulating the choke and throttle while sitting on the engine and nothing. Wouldn't leak. Called the marina guy that talks me off a cliff occasionally and he suggest I tighten the 4 bolts on carb for the he...

Re: When Do you Give Up?

If someone witnessed a majestic vessell, moving rapildy on an acient river, past a forgotten and neglected pyramid yesterday as Ra communed with Horus - well they saw a major accomplishment: Invictus was on a plane on the mighty Mississippi near the great black pyramid someday soon to be a bass pro ...

Re: Gas smell 30-60 min after engines secured

Here is my weekend update. I didn't actually do anything, except start it and observe. As you all said, the gas is dripping out of the carb, not coming from inside the block. I can't say much more than that it is dripping down the side of the portion of the carb that the choke pull off is attached t...

Re: Gas smell 30-60 min after engines secured

I'm not a gear head. Can somebody please elaborate on the choke pull-off? The immediate PO that I bought the boat from had the carbs rebuilt for me to buy it. What y'all are saying is that the carb base plate is warped or there is a missing tube - correct? Let's assume the carbs, really the engine, ...

Re: When Do you Give Up?

Thanks guys. I appreciate the pep talk. She is a damn sexy lady and I very much enjoy the udea of restoring her. The process just hasn't been as "romantic" as the ide. I originally planned to live on her and did for sux months. It seemed so awesome to have a minimalist life and be able jus...

When Do you Give Up?

I'm incredibly discouraged! I've owned Invictus for one year now- yes the name is supposed to mean "Undefeated" and dammit I'm feeling whipped. So, when I bought a 1990 F32 for $21K I thought the deal might be too good to be true. I mean a 32' boat with twin engines and cosmetically lookin...
