F-32 Express HT. Flybridge was optional. Rare models, but the straight Express w/soft top is rarer still. Cabin layout has the head and dinette to starboard. Galley and convertible settee to port. Also uncommon is the F-32 Sportfisherman. Similar in concept to the Express, it has a larger cockpit, w...

Aaron... thanks for the information on Tri-Cabin lineage. I never thought in the terms you discussed, but for the purposes of this thread, was thinking in terms of engine layout... early v-drive boats and later straight-drive boats. Also, the main stringers which you examined on your boat are not so...

Every engine no matter how good a shape it's in has a little bit of blow by past the rings. That being said, carbon deposits contaminate your oil and create a level of acidity that can etch your engines vital internal components when stored for a long period of time. Changing the oil prior to stora...

Thanks for all of the info and the photos Jon (guess that's your name). I am not one who works on my boat due to my age and physical limitations. Is this something I can have my mechanic check and if so, how easy is it to access these areas? My tri-cabin has a little over 1200 hours on it. As I sai...

Not true the glue is all they have in common not wood species .most ply wood is pine , marine is not , Should have noted that I was talking about Exterior-grade vs. Marine-grade Douglas Fir, used by Trojan for their cockpit trim panels. The trim panels in both my F-26 and F-36 are Pine ply and not ...

Well, here's my take on it. The stringers in question are cut down to pass beneath the cabin sole of all Tri-Cabins, so it stands to reason that there is an inherent weakness in this area to all of our boats. In fact, the main stringers are also cut down somewhat to pass beneath the shower and cabin...

Welcome. The only manual for your boat was a generic manual, in loose-leaf binder format, that Trojan included with every model. They threw in other info specific to a particular boat depending on options (Sentry, Halon, Monomatic, etc). The manual offers general infomation on the care and feeding o...

One reminder on Exterior vs. Marine grade plywood. Both use the same waterproof glues and wood species as specified by the American Plywood Association, except the inner and outer plies of marine rated plywood are of a higher quality, and the inner plies are jointed where more than one piece is used...

aweimer... because the boat sits differently when on the hard than when in the water, two separate alignment procedures must be accomplished. The second alignment needs to be done after the boat has settled for a few days at the dock. If you're confident it's an alignment issue, then wait until spri...

As a follow-up to my earlier post, while epoxying the entire panel seems like good advise, the 30 year old panels I replaced had rotted only one inch along the bottom edge, the resullt of water being trapped by the vinyl where it wrapped around one inch behind the panel. Because I don't plan to own ...

My wife and I are on the boat normally every weekend from June thru Aug. And less frequently until it's pulled out in Oct. The Hobbs meter racks up an average of 70 hrs in our short Northern MI season. We'll go down to the dock after work on Friday and take her out to 'the island' some seven miles d...

It would seem that Saloon is the correct term for that big space in-between the aft and forward cabins, but in the For-What-It's-Worth-Department, here's how Trojan's 1976 catalog discribes the F-36 Tri-Cabin and Flybridge Tri-Cabin: ...Both boats give you three, large, separated cabins. An aft mast...
