Come to find out while replacing my Rudder Supports, the Backing material for my Struts is falling apart. The original is / was some type of Plywood. What is the best material to use for that now? While I am not 100% sure that yours can, everyone that I have come across, we have been able to rebuild. If Beacon Marine doesn’t have a means to do it, I would contact a local reputable hydraulics place to do it if you don’t want to tackle it on your own. Ultimately they are pretty easy to rebuild....

That’s what I did, I see what everyone else had done although no one has said if, right in front of the engine compartment bulkhead is where the any water settles, but several have said, that was the most convenient centrally located location, which is why I am asking.

I am planning on accessing the void on top of my keel. From everything that I have come across most people that install a bilge pump in there, do it just ahead of the engine compartment bulkhead.
