git rot is not a real solution, only solution is remove rotted area and replace.

In 2002 the flybridge on my 1976 F44 motoryacht was removed to allow for recoring of roof.
It unbolted but I was not present while done so I can't say how just that it was removed and subsequently replaced.

My 1976 F44 has an original Crisair 16 or 18000 BTU which still works flawlessly

I am in the HVAC business and I REALLY think 24000 is too big

I have a 1976 F44 I have Caterpillar 3208NA 210 HP Naturally aspirated diesel engines with 24 by 21 props and 2:1 transmissions. It reaches 2800 rpm I am pretty sure your naturals are about 258 hp and redline at 2600. My guess is that assuming 2:1 transmissions (very likely) 24 by 24s would be origi...
