Hi Prowlersfish. I've been out of town and as of tomorrow I will be out of town until after mid-September. You may well be right about the rail stanchion bolts. When I removed them I had the impression that they were bronze with a nickel or chromium plate, but I could be wrong. The bolts were not ru...

Here are a few photos that indicate the issues to which I referred, concerning the damaged backing blocks, corroded T-nuts, and corroded machine screws holding the stanchion bases to the deck. Also shown are the corroded bolts holding the side cleats (I was wrong in saying that there was an original...

I am having some problems with Photobucket. I have tried several times to add titles to the photos that I want to let you see, but the titles keep disappearing. I'll be away for a few days and will try again when I return. So far, I am not finding it to be a user friendly site.

Hi foofer b,
I don't know what a "photobucket account" is, but I assume this is something on the Web and not on my computer. Once I find out I'll try to post some pics. Can you (or anyone) give me any further guidance?

Looking for advice on F26

Hello Max, When I had my F26 surveyed prior to purchase, the surveyor found that the foredeck and the forward couple of feet of the sidedecks had wet cores. I negotiated a much lower price and fixed that myself by installing a new balsa core from beneath the decks, and re-fiberglassing. I decided to...

too small rudders

Hi Chucka. thanks for the prompt and detailed response. I will contact you off list about the second rudder, in which I am interested. My (original) rudder does not have an interference fit with the rudder shaft. It is a loose fit held in place with a horizontal bolt through the rudder and shaft. It...

too small rudders

Chuka, I too have a Trojan F26 for which I have been seeking a larger rudder. One issue is that all the larger used rudders that I have seen (mainly from wooden boats) have had rudder shafts/posts that are too short. Do you know from which make and model of boat your new rudder came? Is the shaft di...
