Re: 1958 Trojan Marlin 15

That's a great looking boat. It's nice to see another one has survived. Yours is the first one I've seen like mine.

Re: TROJAN MARLIN

I wouldn't mind having that one myself. It would make a nice twin to my 1958 15' Marlin. I would like to see if that black paint is original on the boat. I have never seen a Black Marlin in a 15' version, they only seem to show up in the 17' model. It looks to be about the same amount of work as min...

The Interlux Seam Compound comes in a can & goes on with a putty knife. I would tape off the wood adjacent to the gap being filled to make cleanup a bit easier. The cleaning solvent will also smooth out the finish of the compound. As far as # of coats to finish, if you're not going to stain it, ...

Hi Guy, It's been since 2000 that I did mine & the materials I used may have changed or may not be available but here goes. I used Z-Spar Standard Mahogany filler stain and Sears Cherry Mahogany oil base stain(it was the closest match to the color of the original stain on the bottom braces of th...

How come the messages look nothing like the preview after you submit them? The photos are all different sizes and all over the place and the same goes for the text. Is there something I'm doing wrong? All the photos were resized to the same exact size. It looked fairly decent in the preview.

The Mustang was my restoration project before the Trojan. My cousin found the original bows for the convertible top a couple of years ago after I had restored the rest of the boat. I found a Taylor Made bimini top on ebay with similar dimensions to fit the bows so that is what I'm using now. I would...

The boat was missing one of the bow chocks and after a long time searching with no matches I tried my hand at making one to match. The first step was a big hunk of brass. After it was shaped & polished it got chromed. http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m623/Marlin58/Makingbowchock1.jpg http://i...

I've had to make some repairs to the bottom because of trailer damage. I also had to patch some bad spots on the ins...
