The 6BTAs in my F32 will run 27knots (31mph), and the fuel economy at idle speed is unreal (1:1 Velvet Drives with 17x20 props) at 8knots idling.
Great setup and the Inline-6 config is easy to work on, but barely clears floor. Paul's is probably about the same clearance.

Re: Mast Light
The Trojan mast set up is fine . Unless you decided to use your boat after dark . Why they would put a lamp in the line of site of the operator I don't know . This was the first thing I fixed on my F36 and one the first issues on my F30 . The fix was easy on my F36 I put it on the had top . I did T...

I didn't know you could get the F32 (Sedan and Express) without Bridge ... looks pretty nice, but I love my fly bridge.

Re: F-31 or F-32 Hardtop
The F32 appears to be an express model with the bridge removed. http://img1.popyachts.com/Image/Listing/11207/378354L.jpg/1976-Trojan-F32-Hard-Top-Express/Hillsborough-County-FL-Photos/Image.jpg $29,500 with twin 318 gas engines and needs some work in the cockpit. Glad to see prices going back up on...

Re: What carburetor for a crusader model 350?
I believe Cliff has a book. The QJet can be a real science project. If it came with the boat, then don't change the jets, rods or springs. There are many rod sizes, identified by letters (springs by color). Also (Per Cliff Ruggles' emails) - float must be set to exactly 1/4". You can also buy n...

Re: What carburetor for a crusader model 350?
The Q-Jet is spread-bore = smaller primaries and big secondaries = best of both worlds: Economy + Power (when you need it). Many shops don't want to spend the time to rebuild a Q-Jet. Just get the kit and do it yourself. Its fairly easy, and will run much better than a only "square bore" (...

Re: considering buying a 79 F 32
Todd makes a good point (you need to consider the towing cost for the $1 boat to get it to FL). Why not spend $10-50k and get a boat that is running, either OK ($10k) or in very good condition, possibly with diesels ($50k) - you'll spend less money n the long run (the prior owner is losing the money...

Re: 11M and 12M Convertible boats' draft and other info?
Thanks guys - pain subsiding a bit now ...
We''ll probably just trail a boat with us for now - then sell the F32 and Chaparral and move up a bit on size/features (and dingy) and live aboard for a few months.
