I have not got photos uploaded yet. No net at the boat yet. That is coming soon. But I do have a better description of the state of the transmission. The port engine's controls are stuck in neutral. You cannot move to forward or reverse positions. WHne you hit the starter you hear the engine try to ...

If you are having trouble finding a local rebuilder for your transmission J Anthony Keats in Ontario do this work. They rebuilt a Paragon V drive for my F28 and I was totally satisfied. Bigearl Thanks for the tip! I will keep that supplier in mind. And to Prowlerfish and gettaway, thanks for the ti...

Thanks for the advice guys. I will get some pics taken as soon as I can (my computer is currently in a box, and I am updating this when time allows from the office). I appreciate the advice.

Just the velvet drives, no V-Drives. Engine compartment in the Tri Cabin is under the sole of the main salon completely "inside" the boat.

Need some advice, transmission got borked on my first outing

As some of you know, I recently bought a 1981 Tri Cabin. I had the boat surveyed and mechanically inspected, and other than the need to replace the exhaust manifolds and the hot water heater, there was not a lot mechanically that either the mechanic nor the surveyor determined needed to be done. So,...

I am happy with the layout. It is a nice living space, and being by myself I have loads of room. It is a nicelayout indeed.

I am in Shleter Island marina in Richmond. I chose it because they openly accept live aboards. And they have their own pub.

Completed first week living aboard, and I am liking it

Well, we moved my boat to its new marina last weekedn (see my comments in my thread about fuel efficiency). Took about 3 hours at 7 knots. Although the weather was not great, we all had fun (I had several friends and my brother along). Now, first week aboard is done, and I am liking it. The Tri Cabi...

Well, I moved aboard late last week, and moved the boat to it's new marina on Saturday. AIt started out as a three hour tour, a three hour tour.....At first all was uneventful. The motors were running nice and we were not haveing any problems cruising upriver on the North Arm of the Fraser river at ...

Just looking over all the responses. Now that you see you have 360's maybe my 73 tri cabin is comparible. I get around 1 mile/gallon at 2900 RPM at around 18-20mph. I have 400's (280hp ea). They run perfect. The aft cabin is pretty easy to access the engines in a very protected environment. You can...

I kinda had no choice on the aft becoming storage as i have the twin bunks back there, not the most comfy sleeping arrangements, however does make for a good closet. Bummer. I have the pedestal style queen in my aft cabin. Nice layout in there. Now, to find a way to get my computer gear stowed effi...

if the existing cabinet layout suites your needs, have you thought of refacing the exisiting cabinets? a 1/2"X 4' X 8' sheet of teak plywood is about 170.00 +-, you could make a lot of cabinet doors and drawer fronts with one sheet of ply. Rockler sells the edge banding, or you could up the st...
