Re: New Tricabin Owner

The Aft wall was plywood and made to be removable. You do have the aft engine correct? Later models had the engines under the salon floor. Aft decks were known to leak many owners fiber glass the aft decks to fix the leaks many are rotted. Do you have the model number? Its located on plate on or by ...

Re: New Tricabin Owner

Any outside photos? Looks like the back wall was repaired at some point. I am not sure but thinking it was plywood. as far as the hours difference the can be several causes. Bad hour meter or its wiring? Engine or trans was inop for along time or broke down a lot. As far as what the go for? Seen the...

Re: Fixing up my 440s

Now onto the nut and bolts. How big of raw water inlets will I need to cool these power plants. And banks marine is producing this motor at 575 hp/429kw for pleasure craft duty. I’m calling them on the way home to get information. Banks should have guidelines for installing their engines. They will...

Re: Hvac ducting on a 1987 10 meter sedan how is it run

On the salon AC you have a remote condenser in the ceiling of the salon so no ducting. On the forward unit , it is self-contained and installed in "closet" You have a vent(s) directly out of the "closet" with no ducts. And you also have ductwork/tubes running to the V-berth front...

Haymaker55 wrote: Sat Jan 14, 2023 2:21 pm It’s got 1.5” shafts now. That would shave many things off the change list. I do agree it will be a bit over powered with this setup but where I’m headed having extra power will come in handy.
Should be 1 3/8 now mine where changed when repowered. Did you ever check the ID numbers?

Re: Fixing up my 440s

The boat has 20x21s props with 1.91:1 gears now. I could never get above 3500 with the 440s. I figured 1:1 with the same props after the new motors? I’m going from 330hp and 375lbs tq. To 500hp and 850 lbs tq. The max torque on the 500hp Duramax is 750, not 850 on the chart I found. so you 750 at t...

Re: Fixing up my 440s

Lot of times the F36 does better with 20x20 props . With 1 to 1 gears, Your stock shaft size may work if aqumet 21 or go up to 1.5 shafts Remember your 440s torque at the shaft x1.91. And you won't be pulling full torque at any rpm unless your WOT. I can run it on shaft cal to be sure.

Re: Fixing up my 440s

I would need full info but I don't think 2" shafts would be needed . not unless you put in to much reduction gear than you have a prop issue.(too big)

Re: Fixing up my 440s

2" shafts? that pretty big. What HP and @ what rpm are you looking at? What gear ratio? Thats a pretty big shaft to fit in an F36. Your limited on how much prop you can put under the hull.

You sure are talking about spending a lot of $$$, but thats what we do on boats LOl

Re: New F36 owner

There are Tanks available that will fit in the stern. I am assuming your talking about a F36 convertible not a tri-cabin? I have not seen any converted to water tanks. But a F36 runs much better with weight back there. They would not sell a F36 without rear tanks and or a generator due to this so yo...

460 or 461 a model # on the ID plate likely on the AC elc. panel also the last 3 numbers on the ID on the transom I can also tell by a photo. The 6.6 is not real common in marine use(yet) But there are some. Who's conversation are you thinking about? Heres a sample of the panel plate.(302 is the mod...
