Re: Fixin her up!
Congrats on your boat. 11 Meters are great boats. I've used oven cleaner with success. It left the gelcoat a little yellowed though. I would try some of the sticker removal formulas first. Your non-skid can be cleaned up with starbrite non-skid cleaner and eraser pads. You can use woody wax (expensi...

Re: Harry Schoell advice for a Trojan Newbie
Harry Schoell was interviewed and discussed in the June/July issue of Professional Boat Builder in an article on offshore racing in the early days. Quite an interesting article, though no mention of Trojans. I don't think the Trojan brand worked out the way Schoell wanted it to. The first 10 Meter ...

Re: 1974 F-44 repower question
I think you are going to find it difficult to locate a turn-motor 8.1, as they are no longer made by GM (I think since 2010). Mercruiser has an 8.2 that is solely supplied by them. I think that motor is extremely expensive, as it can only be sold with catalytic converter and their own electronics. T...

Re: Harry Schoell advice for a Trojan Newbie
The 10.8 Meter is a fantastic boat, however, you will never see 35 mph. This is an extended 10 Meter, which was designed and introduced by Schoell and Trojan in 1981. It has changed many times in the 80's, and they eventually came out with the 10.8 Meter Convertible. RWS is probably the most knowled...

Re: Need help finding Fuel Pump - Gray Marine
The gray marine website has been a no-go so far. Left several messages and no response. I'm thinking of going to a marine electric so I can finish this up. Sourcing parts for this engine has been challenging.

Need help finding Fuel Pump - Gray Marine
I had a 1961 Gray Marine 327 (AMC 327) rebuilt. During the initial start-up, the fuel pump is not working properly. My motor guy is having an issue sourcing a fuel pump. Any help or suggestions?

Re: Why the &*!@ own 2 boats?
If it makes you feel any better, I do all that work and only get to boat for 4 months in the cold state of New York. A majority of the time, the boat sits in shrink wrap. I think people who are prefectionist or always have to have everything working perfectly tend to be stressed boaters. I have fina...

Re: 1987 10 meter mid cabin complete restoration.
I am happy to report that I have no distributors in my 10 meter. old fashioned, non common rail, non electronic, uncomputerized, simple mechanical turbocharged diesels which are no longer produced due to US EPA Tier Three regulations make this size boat very happy. Unfortunately, todays economics c...

I've heard good things on the DUI distributors. Are your engines stock. Obviously these distributors are used on modified engines, so I don't know how they would do on stock motors.
