Re: raw water pump

Yes I am in salt water and have a closed cooling system. I did pull the inboard elbow and it looked good, but that was end of summer last year. I have a 1/4 turn valve opposite my sea strainers for flushing with a hose which I generally do once back in from a trip in the gulf so I can try the hose a...

Re: raw water pump

I know.... I am hoping against it. I am starting at the start point and working my way back. I had the intake hose off at idle and let it pump into the bilge... no major water flow but that was only at 750-800 RPM.... I put the hose on with out the hose clamps in place and it didnt really have a bac...

Re: raw water pump

I did look at the u cooler and it flows fine. I flushed it backwards first then forwards and found no debris. It has always run hotter than the other, by some degree, and I believe I have a faulty temperature sending unit as it reads that it is running over 220, while using an IR gun at the thermost...

Re: raw water pump

Thanks Scott... I havent had a chance to check them out yet, but will this weekend. Ill compare those numbers plus check my other main and see what I am actually getting everywhere. All manifolds are clean but exit flow looks weak, even with new impellers in the past 6 months.....

Re: Sound off on Documented Vessel Annual "Fee"

I don't like any fees (AKA - tax) but I am truly surprised they have been free all these years.... And then only a $5 late fee if late....

Well, it is actually a starter issue..... I did swap starters and the geared drive starter does not engage on the Port engine either...weird.... It appears ok... the starter repair shop tested it under load and looked at it and confirmed it ok, however the bendix must not be protruding out enough to...

I don't believe that it has.... I did see another post about that so I looked and it looks the same as the port engine. I'm going to switch starters tomorrow with the port and verify they operate on opposite engines. Still stumped .... it is a rear mount starter

Starter engaging Problems

I have two crusaders (454 -- 350HP) in my 10 meter. I have replaced both starters with geared drive starters which have worked fine. A few months ago my Starboard starter spins but does not engage the engine. I assumed a bad bendix, however it checks fine. I took it to a starter repair facility and ...

Do you remember how much you paid for that set up and do you have any idea of how much hydrogen that you could produce with it?

your fuel is going to eat you alive. It can be done, but compared to a diesel burn that boat really moves a lot of fuel to do that. I ran a dolphin tour around here for a friend and his 64 Passenger boat could do a 3 1/2 snorkel/ dolphin trip and not use 8 gallons total per trip with 64 people on bo...

Always secure your boat for the worst, as the worst obviously happens. I over secure mine when I leave her tied at the dock and have never been in a bind. I operated OSV's offshore for many years and have seen 3" lines shred from wind loads on a vessels out there... try carrying a sheet of plyw...

I did a lot of research into this when gas first spiked ridiculously high years ago and actually built my own small generator for my vehicle and used it for some time. It's hard to tell a true difference on a car...I did have someone with diesel boat (mine is gasoline) that could not confirm that he...
