Nasty Stuff
I know. Have a pic of my dad about 10 years ago after he and I gave up on sanding of a 28' that I had. He looked like a smurf, but it probally took a few years off of our lives from what we inhaled dispite mask. That's why I'm looking at blasting. And I have a gitter bug sander that I will go over h...

Bottom Blasting
Looked through that thread and it looks nice. I found a device called a Blast out of a Bucket Abrasive gun http://www.eastwood.com/review/product/list/id/5033/ . It may be to small. I'm not sure if it will do the job, but I may try it. Not sure what abrasive to use and will check with the Marina Tom...

Sandblasting
Nice job. If you apply the filler very smooth, do you still have to sand it. I agree though with cleaning the bottom. I'm restoring a 36 year old boat and I know in the past 15 years of meticulous records there's no mention of sandblasting only painting the bottom. I wanted to sandblast to save time...

Bonding wire.
I did see this when I was grinding down the fiberglass when installing the back wall. I'm sure it will be more apparent when I take the running gear down. I'm sure I'll find it. Anysuggestion on inspecting and ensuring the trim tabs are operational. I haven't checked them yet, but there is an automa...

Didn't happen. I'm waiting till dry dock. Don't want to sink her. I was looking at sand blasting the bottom. It looks from the side there are many uneven layers of bottom paint and I think I want to start over fresh. I just hope the boat yard will let me do it. Then I can really clean all the runnin...

Thanks
Did not notice there was a holding nut. Will look at it closer. There was some sort of T-Bolt that screwed all the way out and nothing. Is that what you are talking about. At present though I've been doing alot of research and my fordeck is a little soft and I'm worried about that. Haven't found muc...

Thank Comrades
Thank you to all the men and women, and families who have sacrificed so much. I did three years army, panama and desert shield/storm (9 months sucking sand). I just spent 8 years living in Europe and glad to be home from some really ungrateful and American hating people. I stood tall and let them al...

Nice work
I'm having to do a similar repair on mine, but I'm leaving the original floor in the cock pit to have access in the future. What would be the best way to get the engines out and in. Did you have to remove the sliding glass door? Is the inside floor structure strong enough for an engine lift? Good lu...

Thank you for the Welcome
Nice welcome. I'm really glad you are all excited and as enthusiastic as I am because everyone is starting to think I'm a little nuts with the work I'm doing and what I got myself into. I read that thread on Redoing stringers and it was very scary but helpful. I cleaned the bildge throughly and did ...

F32 New owner and project boat Help and advice.
Hello everyone and it's great to see I'm not the only nut who will devote my life and savings to restoring and old classic. I just bought a 1975 F32. She had minor engine problems and What seemed to be a fairly decent hull with no major damage. I bought it 300 miles from my home and fortuneately the...
