Great idea, and nice boats. I wish you much success.... You might want to check the weight "specs" in the boat section........ Damm web guys, I wish my 32 was 1,200 lbs and not 12,000. Anyway thank you very much to all for the kind words. Thankfully I still have my day job so the pressure...

Pressing my Trojans into service

Well I haven't been around for a while but for good reason. I've started a boat handling course down here in florida and it takes up most of my day and night's too! I thought you guys would like to know that after a relentless search for the perfect training boat I always ended up back at the trojan...

I ran my 32 up the coast, Florida to NJ and shipped it back. I am very sure that you will need to remove the flybridge (which you DON'T want to do) I think the best thing to do is hire a captain for the day to run her home. I don't trust the truckers, to them it is a piece of freight not your new pr...

the 32 yes, never took the 26 over to the Bahamas. Most of the trips have been on the missy B, 2 to 3 week trips to Nassau, and exumas. I think I would stay in the Western islands if I took a 26 over.

Foofer, I would be very concerned about making this trip in the spring. I run over to the Bahamas twice a month (sometimes more) and I can tell you that a F-26 will have a hard time crossing the stream in anything other than 1-2's. You will have a better time if you wait until the summer where there...

I went and looked at this boat. The broker wanted 7K for it. The ebay price is more in line. He tried to tell me that this boat was ready to go??? I pointed out that the boat ran aground and had a bent shaft. And he said "now why in the world do you think this boat ran aground?" I said wel...

It looks to me like he stuffed a roller and the fore deck opened up like a tin can. I think these boats are foam cored not wood or balsa. I didn't know about the other boat falling apart, looks like Bertram may be having some problems.

I wonder if this is the same Palm Beach boat?

Bertram in pieces off of SC

A 63 ft bertram that sunk after hitting a buoy 20 miles offshore. Looks to me like it just fell apart.

I think normally the door goes on the starboard, but I could be completely wrong. You might want to flip through yachtworld.com or boattrader.com and look at some photos before you make that first cut. But then again you may have already checked this out.

Just trying to help

K9th as far as I know you don't need a license for the EPIRB or radar. this is from the Coast Guard web sight- http://www.navcen.uscg.gov/marcomms/othrcoms/fcc.htm The Telecommunications Act of 1996 permits recreational boaters to have and use a VHF marine radio, EPIRB, and marine radar without havi...

The DSC only tells the Coast Guard and other near by vessels (merchant)where your boat is "after" you push the button. It is not sending out a signal all the time. It may some day but not now. This is still a VHF and the range is "line of sight" so if you are in Florida I doubt t...
