Re: Princess Range problem
Dang it Prowlersfish, I was just going to offer my Princess cooktop for sale to him! Decided just this morning that galley update will include new cooktop, so as to be able to maximize countertop space. I'll be living aboard 5/7's of the time for as many months of the year as I can stand it starting...

Re: boat screens removel
I have an '85. They are certainly in there, but you are using the method that I have used successfully. Stick a flatblade screwdriver in the track and lift the screen frame if you need to.

Re: Caring for my bottom
If your boat doesn't have blisters by now, it is not going to get them.
What did your pre-purchase survey say about the bottom condition?

That's some work right there. Nice opportunity to spruce things up while it's open.

I consider that to be safety related. Good call even on a twin.

I'll see your polarity tester and raise you a volt meter. Also serves to trip GFCIs, if you're into that kind of thing....

Awesome stuffing box wrench
Picked-up a pair of these wrenches for working on my shaft seals. So enamored with them that I had to share. Big enough for decent leverage, but not too big to work in confined paces. Grips on three flats. Made in America. A pair from Amazon was <$65. What's not to like? wrench.JPG https://smile.ama...

Looks awesome. Only way to get something like that is to do it from scratch.

Re: Trojan's Unique Starting Parallel System
As I understand it, my 1983 10 meter has a solenoid in the battery compartment. As does my tricabin. what happens when the 3 position EMERGENCY START toggle is ON ? Both engine batteries are paralleled. Useful in case, for example, you need to transmit a mayday and need the maximum possible power f...

Re: Slow leak in bilge, 1987 11 Meter Express
are you sure its seawater and not rainwater finding a pathway into your bilge? RWS Vents will let in air AND water. Not knowing ur setup, ill add condensation. And what do you mean its slowly rising, requiring you to drain it? Do the bilge pumps not handle it? You'll get better answers if you provi...

Re: 10 meter Express New Dash/Console Project
Well, ran into a stumbling block. Previous owner secured the old dash with 5200 and it is stuck down. Going to see if I can. get a wire to cut it. This is why I do not recommend 5200 for anything. 4200 has excellent adhesion properties and is removable. As far as I am concerned. the entire boat nee...

Re: Help with Water Tank access on 1980 F30 Sport Cruiser
I have not figured out how to get the antifreeze in to the water tank or hot water heater. If its simple, I've complicated it to a point of exhaustion! Pour it in through the deck fill. I've installed a water heater bypass. Without one, winterizing would be a PITA. Think it through. You'll figure i...
