Re: Need some advice on varnishing
I applied three coats of west epoxy in my galley with the 107 hardener. You can apply three coats 3 hours apart and forego the amine blush issue. I applied 5 coats of gloss epiphanes and topped it off with a final coat of Epiphanes Rubbed effect. In the salon I did not use the epoxy base coats, with...

Re: aft air conditioning for 11 meter
The compressor is under the cockpit on the starboard side. The air handler is under the Flybridge console. In the salon you should see three air vents in the overhead...all lined up. The middle vent is the return vent, while the two outboard vents are the supply vents. The air handler is directly ab...

Looks good. I've been there with the vinyl. I still have a garage full of doors...at one point there were 26 doors out there. I think I'm down to 7 remaining. I can't wait until I get them all completed.

Re: Need some opinions on new cabinet doors from you guys.
The pre-made doors will look great. The doors I made for the galley took a long time to finish...six to seven coats on both sides. I bought a few pre-made pre-hung doors in solid teak for the salon and they look great. Here is a link http://www.teakmarinewoodwork.com/doors_cabinet.htm Here is a pic....

Re: 1987 10 meter mid cabin complete restoration.
Finding replacements for the Trojan port lights is next to impossible. My replacements were smaller than originals and I had to do some fiberglass work at each opening to seal the exposed coring and make the holes a bit smaller. The exterior trim rings covered the existing openings, so I did not nee...

Re: 11M Interior Overhaul - Stateroom
Thanks for the comments. This was a lot of work. The material on the hull is foam backed vinyl....interior portions are fabric backed vinyl wall covering. Headliner installed by Kustom Kovers of Daytona Beach. Lights installed by me. The anchor locker door has not been installed yet. I've still got ...

Re: 1987 10 meter mid cabin complete restoration.
Looks great. Glad my refit brought you some ideas. I don't quite understand why you need the fabric to hide the wall/headliner joint. The joint should be very small. Maybe I don't understand what you are trying to do. At any rate, looks good.

Re: 10 Meter Bow Cushion Ideas
The front of the cushions have a cord sewn in to the seam that slides into the grooved rail attached to the deck. The cushions are easily removed. The rails around the cushions were installed by PO.

Re: 11M Interior Overhaul - Part II
Let's see some pics of the sapele. I'll bet it looks sharp. I didn't discuss finishing because everyone has their preferences. As for me, I sanded and applied 5-6 coats of gloss varnish for uv protection and finished with a coat of Epiphanes Rubbed Effect Varnish. We didn't want the glare that gloss...

11M Interior Overhaul - Stateroom
The stateroom was in sad shape when we bought BlueBelle. The PO didn't use the stateroom...so it became a neglected storeroom. We ripped everything out and started over. The project is not complete, but I'll share where we are. Remaining work includes completion of dresser drawer faces, and doors. O...

Re: 11M Interior Overhaul - Part II
All teak veneer shown is 10mil paper backed veneer. I have some wood backed veneer to be applied to the doors for the stateroom and head, and the only reason I'm using the wood backed veneer is because I inadvertently ordered it and cannot return it. Wood backed veneer is tougher to work with, but m...
