Re: Southern Ontario Memebers

[quote="blair"] "or anywhere within 2 or 3 days scope from my home base" We all probably have this to consider, the Trent boaters outbound and the Bay boaters inbound. Rushing, which we don't like, it took us 3 days to get to Peterborough in our last (quicker) boat. So going that...

Re: Southern Ontario Memebers

I'm afraid I'm going to side with Michael on this. Bay Moorings is about 10 minutes, at fast idle, away from my marina. Up the coast or down the Trent, either is good with us. But if Jimbo's marina is a meeting place, destination decided and go from there, that works.

Re: Nylon cable clamps... How could you make bad ones?

I have, in the past, used them to tie a small burgee to the VHF antenna. If they didn't break mid to late season ( 3-4 months ) they were done by haul out.

Re: Southern Ontario Memebers

I have that time frame booked off with no real firm plans in place as yet. And a run on the Trent is always enjoyable. As far as stern out, three reasons. We were on the "other" side of the pier for 13 years so when the opportunity came to move we did. Now we stern out across the bay towar...

Re: Been a while

Yup, been there, done that. Bought the boat, arrived Friday night to sleep over and get an early start next morning. Starboard engine spang to life, Port engine didn't even twitch an eye lid. Shut off Starboard engine still no life in Port. Great! New, to us, boat, first with two engines, minimal to...

Re: starting batterys

I agree with the Delcos. In our first boat I installed Voyager and got 10 seasons. But when I went to replace I was told Voyager was no longer available. Too good I guess. Our current boat had Interstate batteries in it when we purchased and according to the date stamp on the label are now in their ...

Re: Electrical issue

First and foremost do NOT remove the anti-siphon valve. It is there for one very good reason. If the fuel delivery system is compromized that valve prevents the gas from syphoning into the bilge. You already have one problem, don't create another. Especially when the first problem is electrical. My ...

Re: Water in Oil

Gas generally doesn't turn oil tan in colour, water does. Gas just thins out the oil. I'm wondering what alarm sounded.

Re: F36 Tri Cabin - Electrical Issues

I'm thinking you may have more going on here. First off I question the testing CTC did on your batteries. Seems to me they were partially or fully discharged and they were testing voltage only. I could be wrong. As I understand your issue you installed charged batteries and ran the engines and all s...

Re: Need advice on disconnecting and repairing a 10 meter ga

There are a couple different ways to approach replacing the original with a look-a-like. Number one, repair cracks in the original and use it to make a female mold that you could now lay up a fiberglass dash in. Done properly it will produce a very smooth finish. Make sure the bubbles are out. Numbe...

Hey, take off eh! Bob and Doug MacKenzie with the Coleman and the back bacon. Up here we play Beer Hunter, right? So, like, you take a six pack of cans of your favorites, eh. And then you take one out and shake it real good, then put it back in the case, right, and mix 'em all up. So now you pass th...
