Re: Mid stringers rotten and water in cabin

The design of the boat is that the bow is down at rest, so if blocked level the low point is the bow. Rain can get in side vents or aft deck and then into the bilge and then it heads for the bow.
Is the rot on the stringers the ones going bow to stern or the cross braces?

Re: Black water tank location

I would put it on the center line of the boat even weight distribution.... there is a genny in my boat at aft wall of engine room. What's wrong with under the V berth... there should be a floor already there to take it...
You seem to be planning to have most of the weight aft of midships......

Black under V berth. Shore water port side under the side panel on aft deck under the window extension.

Documented boats must have the number physically attached to the inside of the boat. If the boat is no longer documented it should have been removed.

Re: F32 Forward Hatch Latches

Those are Perko latches, do an Internet search I've seen them for $47. Those are not original my original had a chrome U section not plastic....... was not able to find them so replace one with the Perko. Here is what mine looked like before I sold them. https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3417/456480370...

You can't believe everything you here.

What do you think would happen on the inside that would start corrosion more than what can happen on the outside?

Re: Stabil 360

Is the main problem with rusting on those tanks not from water/damp on the outside? Like under straps, where tank rests in blocks etc: Condensation on the inner walls of the tanks is a rare if not a non issue in everything I have researched. When I bought my diesel President that had been rarely use...

Re: What is the lowest point in the engine room bilge on F32

ready123 - With the saddle tanks the low point at rest in is the engine room not aft. When underway it all depends on your trim etc. On a side note last spring I had dropped a 9/16 socket in the bilge and it went under the generator. Being unable to get to it I had left it there thinking it would n...

No saddle tanks but would not expect that to make the hull that much lower uderway to make the midship pump effective. Of course three is not worse than two but may not really add anything.

Re: What is the lowest point in the engine room bilge on F32

I'm confused why you have one forward in the engine room... My F32 I have two: One fully Aft against transom where the water goes while underway. One under step platform in V berth where the water goes when not moving. The Fwd engine room bulkhead should have minimal water, in fact only there as it ...

Re: Trans Controls - 1 sticky,1 loosie goosie

Did you do it from the bottom end or top end? Also, did you have a similar experience with yours? From the top... bridge to lower station. Then lower station to transmission. Mine were very stiff so much so that I sheared threaded end off one and had to buy a new cable.... made sure I lubed them af...
