Re: Interesting Trojan Story
I read a lengthy article about this several years back that stated that the boat came equipped with a forward bilge pump however had none at the rear. This is OK while the boat is off plane and sitting bow deep but when on plane they had no way of pumping out the water in the back of the hull.

Re: 1977 F26 Trojan Vibration
I did the same to my '78 F-26, I epoxied a cradle to the hull under the muffler and liner the edges where the muffler sits with soft rubber to further deaden vibration. Worked like a charm.

Absolutely, I can only begin to imagine the hardship that will have to be endured before things can get better.Big D wrote:Ya really worried for you guys, not lookin' good. Hope the worst is over and the recovery can begin. Our prayers are with y'all.

Re: Changed fuel filter today oh wow.
That is exactly the type of sight bowl used on a MerCruiser engine's fuel pump to indicate pump failure. It looks like some where along the way someone added filter media to it and installed it inline. I'd recommend replacing it with something like this primarily for safety reasons but also for effi...

Re: 110V AC
If you replace the wire from the inlet to the panel, be sure to use something a little heavier like a 12/2 stranded.Paul wrote:+1Big D wrote:14/2 plus ground, stranded

Re: Changed fuel filter today oh wow.
This is the way it's done on the MerCruiser engine, I'm assuming the sight bowl is used for the same purpose on the Chrysler.AlphaJustin wrote:Are you sure?

Re: Changed fuel filter today oh wow.
The glass bowl located off of the side of the fuel pump is not a filter. If you see fuel in this, it means that the primary diaphragm in the fuel pump is shot and the pump needs to be replaced. If the secondary diaphragm is also damaged, you may see oil in the bowl or even worse you may be pumping g...

Re: Help me please
I had a problem similar to this years ago that was due to debris caught in the anti-siphon valve. This valve is the first fitting after the elbow on top of your fuel tank. It looks just like a standard fitting to connect the flared fuel line however it has a spring and check ball in it in which debr...

Good to hear Paul, I'll be interested to hear the results. My guess is the 14 x 9 will end up giving you better results however only testing will tell. I'm not in a big hurry to get the props back so if you would like to try them both under varying conditions, take your time and do that.

Welcome aboard! I've had my '78 F-26 since 2000 and think that these boats are great. They do have a few quirky handling characteristics however I'm sure that we can explain how to deal with them as arise.

Re: F26 needs some seats
Nice looking cockpit. I noticed that you covered over the AC panel access at the lower port side of the bulkhead, did you relocate it into the cabin?
