Re: Through hual valev

did you loosen the valve body before you tried to operate the valve? the old style sea cocks had a jam nut type of arrangement you had loosen before operating the actual valve to an open or closed position,

Re: Autopilot with Chain Steering?

When I had my 34' CHB trawler, it had an old style Benmar autopilot with chain / shaft steering, our F-32 had the same arrangement for the most part. I converted the computer from the old Benmar system to a Comnav 1420 autopilot which included the computer, fluxgate compass and remotes for both uppe...

Re: Thoughts/idea formore life from riser (crusader)

the dock water pressure on our dock fluctuates dramatically, I guess I could put a regulator on the hose and make up a pig tail, but I have gotten used to the system I made up, I can also check water flow of each engine by how quickly the bucket drains if I turn off the water supply.

Re: Thoughts/idea formore life from riser (crusader)

I have Crusader 350's (7.4 L) engines as well, The manifold is fresh water cooled and the riser and elbow are raw water cooled, I wanted to have the riser on the freshwater side, but there are not any threaded ports on the Osco riser. the Stainless block off plates are between the manifold and lower...

"Still trying to talk myself out of hiking the Appalachian Trail. Not sure if I'm going to win that argument." My father in law just hiked the AT, alone, start to finish in one season (2015), at 78 years old !. 4th oldest recorded ... he said it was the hardest thing he has ever done, most...

Re: Not a Trojan but I think its still cool

Thanks Prowler, lawyer Dave & Allen,
The "traditional" 37C looks pretty good at 50' altitude and 150' away!
I've had some fun with the drone and I finally have a couple of good photos of my own boat

Cheers !

Not a Trojan but I think its still cool

So those f you who aren't familar with me I had an F-32 that I pretty much completely refurbished and then sold it in anticipating of buying an F-36 which didn't work out and I ended up buying a 1984 37C Silverton, I have slowly been modernizing the old girl and we really like the size of the boat. ...

2016 TROJAN BOATS FORUM SUPPORTER

Hi All, I don't participate as much as I used too, we sold our F-32 a couple of years ago and we bought a Silverton, however, I still prefer the Trojan Boat Forum over "other" sites, this is a great group of like minded & down to earth members. I check in and read the posts here often ...

Re: Fuel Tank Removal

It sounds to me as if the tanks outboard of the engines have been removed and the optional aft tanks were being used. It is my understanding that the outboard tanks were standard and the aft tanks were an option.

Re: led interior strip lighting

When I did the restoration of our F-32, I used the incandescent rope lights, the LED were pricey at the time and I had a 100' roll of the 12VDC ope lights left over from a work project. It still produced a great look and feel in the boat at night I installed the lights in the salon behind the teak v...
