Bob, would not make a difference as long as water flows. But as you have seen you limit your bildge access. Mine are routed to each strainer as there are 90 deg. fittings on each.

I did cut the bottom 3 inches off of mine for this reason. Best way is to take all 6 bolts out on the genny mount and raise the front. This will allow cover to come off. I used a cutting wheel on my 4inch grinder. Sanded cover and painted. Can now be removed easly. Genny is heavy 427 lbs so be caref...

Going thru the same issue with mine now. I believe it may be distributor related.
Do you get popping thru the carb? New distributors will be arriving today.
I also did the fuel system checks with no change.

Don't forget the trans oil

And the pencil zincs in the oil cooler ! But , had a overheating issue last season due to zinc in the cooler doing its job and clogged up my cooler. While at Lankford Bay meet up I removed it and cleaned out the cooler and did not put back in as recommended by the mechanic there. Temps. are good now...

Looks like we are in the same boat! (Had to say it). Don't really drink beer so if I can convince my wife it is for pure study I will take (2) 120lb girls on each outing and see if this helps. :D

10 meter mid cabin list to starboard

My 10 meter has a list to starboard I noticed while at the dock. Exhuast port bottom is at water level while the port side is clear by about 1 1/2". Noticed this last season and before I loaded gear on board it still favors that side. Not carrying any thing on that side as the tools and parts a...

Problem is in the transmission. I had the same thing happen on my v-drive and the clutch plates had slipped. Probaly has rotation when you rev. the engine some ? Transmission will need to come out to fix. Walter v-drives are pretty simple and bullet proof.

How heavy is a 10 meter mid cabin ?

Found out on sat. while launching mine, travel lift has scales on each sling. 16,000 lbs. with a full water tank and half full fuel tanks. Now after I put on all my gear and stock the refrig., I'll have to weigh each item to keep track of the weight I am adding !!!

They are very quiet, no noise at all !! Placement of the unit is key, make sure it is not in an area with no air flow as they tend to get warm. They have small axial fans for cooling but without new air in they recirculate hot air. Batteries are to be in a proper box (don't forget the added weight w...
