Re: counter dimension
With no generator on the Albin, I've been looking for a better way to make coffee than simple drip. A while back, I got a Bialetti expresso maker - http://www.amazon.com/Bialetti-4-Cup-Stovetop-Espresso-Maker/dp/B000ND3QN2/ref=sr_1_4?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1363736620&sr=1-4&keywor...

Aaron, our shifter cover was pitted, too. Of course it's stainless steel rather than aluminum. John thinks he used 0000 steel wool on it along with 3M Cleaner Wax. It looks like new.

Re: hey from AAron.........it's been a while
Hey Aaron! Good to see you posting. Work is probably doing you good - helps keep your mind off the health issues at least some of the time. But no wonder you're tired - working and healing are exhausting! We worked on a boat project this past week, too. The aluminum supports for the helm chairs were...

Re: 1977 F32 DRIP EDGE
Jim, you might want to consider omitting the drip edge entirely. A friend did this on his '76 F-32 express, and it looks great. The drip edge doesn't serve much purpose when it rains as it's so small.

I broke one of my cardinal rules and re-engineered the lazerette hatch drains and integrated them with the cockpit scuppers all that crap goes out the transom now in a repurposed thru-hull that was already there. I'm sure you know the one I mean. I know exactly what you're talking about. That proje...

I'm telling you the bilges in that 32 are like the Sahara. I could open a dried flowers business under the cockpit deck. I had to actually sit on a stringer with a stopwatch and time the stuffing box drips because I thought they were too tight. They aren't. They are PERFECT. I think the aft pump ha...

RWS, Pine-Sol disintegrates rubber and is not kind to hose and metal. So it ate the vacuum tank switch (big $ for a tiny part) and caused the pump to need rebuilding. It was a big contributor to having to swap out or repair almost every component in the system, the other one being the previous owner...

We installed the keel plug in the spring of 2009 after noticing some weeping where the keel meets the hull. Well, that's oversimplified! The keel plug was installed after the problem area was repaired. It turned out there was a void in the area the water was coming from, and that was ground to solid...

D, Dave didn't post photos of the bilge all the way forward. I'd love to see a shot of of it in the V-berth where floor hatch abuts the step. I studied that area a lot in our (Michael's) boat, and I think the false bilge is open into the forward-most section of the bilge, i.e. under the V-berth step...

Its Comodaves fault. If he had posted those photos a few years back I could have bought it with the work already done. ;) LOL! Probably true! Yes, you should go for it just on the bad design premise. You want a clean bilge, don't you? Just think about the 35 years of crud under there. Gross! Maybe ...
