After sitting for approx a year, I was able to fire off one of the engines of the F 28 I purchased recently . The engine is coupled to a Hurth v drive. well,,,,,,,,,, here is some more info on my system, seems I may have jumped the gun calling it Hynautic,, I started cleaning my bilge yesterday and noticed the ram and the lines for the system at the stern, I see the distribution block, but see not reservoir or air fittings etc, like the other Hynau...

has anyone out there rebuilt the helm unit? I guess I have to do mine as it leaks at my lower helm pretty good, what can I expect on re sealing this unit, or is it something I should send out,, I do have mechanical skills, so ...... I may just try it

maybe you can clarify about "just adding salt" where would I "just add salt"? I know it needs salt water to work, correctly I was wondering about brackish water , if there was enough salt in it,,

I know, when I get the fresh cooled engine in, Ill decide what to do with the one that is raw cooled, maybe its best leave it alone until I replace it. you make a good point prowler

Prowler,, I dont quite understand, what will happen if I convert the engine,,? I forgot to mention that the engine in the boat has a documented 50 or so hours , and new manifolds and risers, dosent seem to be that dirty. So is what your saying that the coolant circulating through the engine instead ...

engine work is typically done when needed, the engine will let you know when its time.
there is no real answer to that question, especially that it is not regulated etc, like aircraft, which as a clean cut hours cut off.
