Re: Hynautic Steering question

happy to say that the JB weld repair works like a charm, no leaks anywhere. Prep is key, you really have to de oil this thing and prep the plastic well. What I did was cut a groove into the crack and drill "relief" holes at the end of the crack to prevent traveling of the crack . I also sa...

Re: Dual Helm Ignition question

OK thought my lower helm had two toggles per engine, but apparently only one per engine. The other toggle next to the engine start/stop is for something else. So I guess its ok, but one thing I noticed. It works much like everyone described here, however if I start my engines from my lower station ,...

Yet another Hurth Transmission question

As some know I have an F 28 project and am in the middle of half repower. When I purchased the boat the port engine was out. I have had other boats in the past with twin engines, but none with twin Hurth transmissions , with V drive. My question is,,,, What determines the direction of prop spin, ? i...

Re: New Trojan Owner

Im telling you it was an amazing dock to say the least. Its hard for me to understand how someone can let something go so far. The owner of the boat was not the same guy that owns the property that it was docked at. Actually the owner is a pretty good guy, he had a streak of bad luck with his health...

Re: Hynautic Steering question

I finally got out and removed the leaking helm unit, turns out its a Teleflex unit. The leak apparently is coming from a small crack (quarter inch) in the plastic housing. I guess its worth a try to repair it. I will drill a couple of relief holes in the plastic housing where the crack is to stop th...

Re: Hurth Transmission issue

I assume its been repowered at some point, it has twin mercruiser 350's, with Hurth HSW 630V the movement of the shift lever is fine, not spinning about the shaft, the fluid seems slightly dirty , but not terrible. as mentioned, it does nothing when shifting , what did happen , when I first started ...
