Chlorine is a strong oxidant, so go carefully. It will accelerate rust on anything in the bilge. I do not use it anywhere in the interior of my boat except in the sealed waste treatment unit.
I would never use it on a regular basis!

An option to using wood backing plates is G-10 (fiberglass) panels that can be epoxied to the hull just like wood. They never rot...

Re: Trojan F44 Raw Waterpump question
Our F-36 with 440's has an aftermarket fresh water cooling system from Sen-Dure which uses the D55 for a circulation pump, so take this with a grain of salt! Both D55 pumps are mounted in the same orientation on the right side of each engine, and I SUSPECT this is true of the more standard configur...

Re: blower motor
By the time you are getting that noise, the blower motor is most likely ready to fail and oil will not repair the damage to the bearings. I would replace it before it fails and you are left without a working blower to vent the engine compartment before starting.

Re: 75 F32 Ignition Switches
On WayWeGo, you can start the engines from either helm, no matter what position the switches are in at the other helm. We run from the flybridge 99% of the time, but I always start the engines from the lower helm with the hatch open when getting going. This allows me to hear what is going on and to ...

Re: 10 meter mid cabin bilge pump float switch
it runs a lot I'd get on fixing the cause of that WWG! Well, I wish it was that easy, but there are multiple things causing my pump to run too often. First of all, my A/C drains run into the bilge so whenever it is humid and we are on the boat, there is extra water in the bilge. That doesn't bother...

Re: 10 meter mid cabin bilge pump float switch
Yes, the mercury switches were so much better, though they would sometimes fail but not nearly as often as the lousy ones we now can buy. The reason I am OK with the expensive USS switch is that I trust it and am willing to send extra for that level of trust in something that is critical to the boat...

If you want the most reliable, check out Ultra Safety Systems Pumpswitch: https://www.tefgel.com/contain.php?para ... itch_price
You'd better sit down before you look at the price!
I have one on our boat and am satisfied that it was worth it.

Re: Air conditioner
On our F-36 convertible, the water pump for the AC system is under the dinette seat nearest the lower helm. When you turn on the switch for the AC, you should see one or two streams of water coming out a through hull just above the water line. On our boat, that is on the starboard side in the middle...

Re: Trojan F-40 Height
If the F-40 is anything like the F-36, Trojan shipped the boats from the factory with the flybridge removed, so it is already set up for a fairly easy removal. I have never removed mine, but imagine it is awkward getting it down to the foredeck. Of course, any additions by previous owners might not ...
