Oh, the humanity!
Well, she doesn't look quite as bad as the Hindenberg this spring, but Das Boot still needs a lot of work. I want to repaint and re-caulk inside and out. Question: how to bottom paint an inboard hull on a trailer? I've done this before by jacking up one back corner at a time, and then the front, but...

Muskrat, Very nice. I like the way you worked in the red chines and the darker (brown?) bottom. I've been trying to figure a good color scheme for my '61. It comes down to whether I want to include a waterline. Some were painted that way, apparently, but you end up without the emphasis on the nice s...

Tom, Welcome aboard! I would say that Jacob has something very similar in his Evinrude vintage powered Trojan. Maybe you'd like to reply to his thread on his 14' runabout, or send him a PM. I don't know much about the outboard runabouts, except they look like pretty sweet boats. You can e-mail me if...

That is a very interesting boat. It has nice detail touches like the trick built in tables on the seat-backs, all the mahogany accents, etc. The vintage Evinrude looks really nice too. Is that the 2-cycle that fires both cylinders at the same time? Very nicely kept up boat all around, and yet obviou...

"What I did in my Runabout, Summer 2010"
This thread could just as well be titled "What I did in, on, around, and maybe through my Trojan Runabout this past summer." My story is not so bad: I staunchly avoided additional maintenance after last summer's major transom surgery. So, I had some time to take it out (also sans badly nee...

Thanks for the heads-up. I have returned the old Bee to the water, and left the tabs as is for now, since I had no way of knowing how to set them up any differently, and they make dandy through-the-wood support for the bottom of the transom. They might get it up on plane a little more easily by prov...

Would a nice wad of 3M bedding compound be about right for a permanent fix? That's as far as I got last year, and I wanted to get out on the water sometime before labor day for a change. So that's how she sits. Got the prop all prettied up, and went halfway across the lake before my wheezy old fuel ...

Winterizing?
Winterizing plans... I just store mine (inboard V-8 ) with empty water jackets. I've heard that some fill with antifreeze/water mix to prevent corrosion. I just don't know if the rubber vanes in my water pump would like that. Never had anything plugged with rust. I "ran" my SkiBee 4 or fiv...
