Re: 1971 F26 - Shore Power Questions

After going back and looking at some photos I took a while ago, it appears that the boat was probably wired with stranded because some of the wiring at the panel is stranded. Perhaps the outlets were rewired with Romex?

In any case, a complete panel replacement and rewire will eventually get done...

Re: 1971 F26 - Shore Power Questions

I am pretty sure our boat came with factory shore power, and it is wired with Romex solid core wire. There have certainly been modifications, but considering how the panel and generator are installed, I think it unlikely to have been added by a previous owner, especially since there are Trojan label...

Re: 2016 Cheasapeke bay rendevouis Poll

Hi Everyone! I just purchased a 1990 12M Express on the upper Chesapeake. I had John Leed help me out and he promised he'd go to a Rendezvous. Any word if/when/where one will be held? I'd be happy to help set one up. Labor Day weekend works best for me. Thanks!! Oh, we have a volunteer!!! A rendezv...

I spoke too soon! After looking at the price of new seats that I liked, I decided it was better to repair mine...

Re: Arm rest on late 70s / early 80s F boat bridge seats

I have the same problem and am debating whether to rebuild or replace. If I didn't have a high quality upholstery shop owned by a boater nearby, I would definitely be replacing. His prices are very reasonable. Most likely, I will replace the whole seats as even at my low costs, by the time I replace...

Re: Replacing Trim Tab Cylinders

The pins are plastic and only take a few seconds to drive out with a hammer and punch. For not very much money, you can buy replacement seals and rebuild your cylinders. If you do that, you might want to consider putting some high pressure lithium grease on the seals and cylinders before re-installi...

Last try -- anyone have a photo of how your autopilot linear drive is mounted in a F32 or F36?

Re: Prop Size 1987 F36

FWIW, we are running 18.5x19 no cup and barely get to max RPM at the beginning of the season. I really need to put the boat on a diet and get some of the junk off it!

Re: SPLIT A/C ONE UNIT COLDER THAN OTHER

If the air in the salon is already warmer than the air in the berth, that is to be expected. A marine air conditioner generally cools the existing air 15-20 degrees as long as the water temperature is 80 degrees Fahrenheit or below. So, if the temperature in the salon is 95, you can expect the A/C t...

Re: New guy...questions

Hang in there! We bought our F36 a year ago and are working through lots of stuff that worked OK during the sea trial and now needs attention. It can be frustrating, but I know that once I fix things, they are done right and won't need anything other than routine maintenance for a long time. The goo...
