I have the same 1:1 Velvet Drive on my boat. When I did the re power in 2001, I had Anthony Keats Marine go thru this tranny simply to check that it was OK. They replaced some clutch plates, the vent and some seals. I'm now heading into the 10th season with this unit and have had no problems. Here'...

NADA is way off 99% of the time on the list price the price I had are list price no options I only have the 1975/6 list I do have the invoce on my boat , you can get one on most trojans from Bob or John Lead Sorry Prowler, didn't mean to hi-jack your post just sharing what a friend sent me.

Thats a lillte large for your boat its rate for boats 43 ft up and the install would be a lot of work ( and take up a lot of room it the boat ) The built in ones should not case much in any drag . I am enjoying this forum immensely, learning tons of stuff and as a newb, it is an eye opener, researching bow thrusters, I found this that hasn't been mentioned yet Lewmar makes a retractable bow thruster, interesting.
