Re: rough seas for a 10 meter
I'm not too worried about ride comfort... just safety. I've got a couple buddies in town this weekend that are eager to fish. We are in our 20's so we can take a beating.

rough seas for a 10 meter
To those of you with lots of experience on your 10 meter, what would you consider to be too rough of seas for the boat? Would this forecast keep you from heading offshore? http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/data/Forecasts ... .KMLB.html

Re: alternator wiring
This alternator on the port engine appears to be aftermarket. The one on the starboard engine is original I believe so I tried comparing it but they are very different looking. Perhaps a PO replaced it and wired it correctly with one wire... But based on everything else I have found on the boat I am...

alternator wiring
Can anyone tell me if the yellow wire on my alternator in the pictures below is supposed to be connected to anything? If so, which terminal?

exhaust manifold temperature
One of my exhaust manifolds is running much hotter than the other. Is it safe to connect a garden hose where I put the arrow in the picture to flush the exhaust and riser? Is it ok to do this without the engine running or is there a risk of water getting into the exhaust ports?

Re: Boat Handling and POD systems
Seafarer is a sweet looking yacht Doug, I would love to come for a ride but $42k/week isn't quite in my budget. Any chance there's a Trojan boat owners discounted rate?

Re: Boat Handling and POD systems
With all that what do you even need to be on the boat for! Just sit at home on your computer with an uplink to the yacht! Get a few video cameras for views around the boat and you're all set!

Re: Boat Handling and POD systems
Speaking of tight slips.... I don't even have a boat length of water in front of mine (the empty slip with the measuring bars in the picture). Sure made me learn pretty quickly how to handle the boat. I think they thought it was funny to give the new guy with his first boat ever the tightest slip in...

Re: Sand in my pants
Well disregard the previous post. I was going to check raw water flow leaving the cooler. When pulling the raw water hose off the outlet of the oil cooler the braze at the U broke so now my oil cooler is in two pieces. Turns out there was a lot of sand still in there. Looks like I will need to buy a...

Re: Sand in my pants
I reinstalled the water pump and oil cooler. Water pump was completely rebuilt and I back flushed the cooler and got all the sand out of there. Put on all new hoses as well. Started up the engine and it immediately overheated again. Risers got very hot. Engine is raw water cooled. I think the hot ri...

Re: How do I remove the teak cockpit step?
My step slides up to pop out and slides down to lock into place.

Re: Sand in my pants
I had just done a complete rebuild of this pump a few months ago and replaced the cam then. The carbon bushing in the cover plate was replaced at that time as well.

Re: Sand in my pants
Water pump rebuilt and ready for installation. Replaced the bearing ($14) and seal assembly ($25). Also faced off the cover plate because it had a pretty deep wear groove in it. New coat of paint and it's ready to go!

Re: 10 meter dc wiring diagram
Yes my lower station was removed by a PO and I assume at the same time the wipers were removed and wires disconnected from the DC breaker panel.

Here is what my props looked like:
There were a couple barnacles as well. Rudders and bottom looked similar.
